Kopp is 5-11 with an athletic frame that has some strength present and some projection left to it. He hits from the left side from a balanced athletic stance, short stride on line, smooth load back. Hips rotate completely with violence and he maintains good lower half balance. Hands stay inside, short and quick to the ball, slightly uphill line drive swing path, showed a pull preference and ball carries in the gap. Behind the plate, clean exchange, throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, position velocity was 73 and pop times 2.02-2.15. Showed some accuracy on his throws. Ran a 7.17 60 yard dash.
Preseason All-State III
Kopp is 5-11 with a strong athletic frame that has some projection left to it. He hits from the left side from a balanced athletic stance, strides on line, smooth load back. Hips rotate completely with some violence and he maintains good lower half balance. Hands stay inside, short and quick to the ball, slightly uphill line drive swing with extension through the ball, some gap power present and potential for more, exit velocity was 88. Behind the plate, works up to ball with some sway, quick clean exchange, throws from a three-quarters arm slot, position velocity was 75 and pop times 1.97-2.04. Very accurate with his throws. Showed versatility taking balls in the infield where his velocity was 80.
Solid athletic frame at 5-foot-11, 180-pounds. Square athletic stance at the plate, loads into back leg, replaces the front foot at stride landing square, and hands make easy load back in rhythm. Quick hands, slight uphill path, and showed some gap to gap power potential in the swing. Maintained balance throughout the swing and displayed an aggressive finish in the lower half. Exit velocity was 85 mph. Behind the plate the feet were active, jab step to get in line, and finished upright at release. Deeper exchange, short arm circle, and threw from a three-quarter arm slot. Positional velocity was 73 mph and pop times ranged from 2.15-2.22. Ran a 7.39 60.
