VA/DC Scout Blog
Hultquist is 6-2 with a lankier athletic frame that has some strength present. Throws from a low three-quarters arm slot, long loose quick arm action with some effort to his delivery. Drop and drive delivery, shoulders are downhill and slightly closed, lands on line with fall off finish and recoil. Fastball was 85-89 with some downward plane to it and late armside run. Threw one slider at 73, pitch was bounced out of the zone. Was around the zone with his fastball, worked quickly and attacked hitters. Still has velo upside, ball jumps out of hand.
VA/DC PreSeason All-State Central
Hultquist is 6-2 with a lanky athletic 190 pound frame that has a lot of projection left to it. He throws from a low three-quarters arm slot, short loose very quick arm action and some effort to his delivery. Drop and drive delivery, shoulders are slightly uphill and closed, lands closed with an athletic finish and hard recoil. Fastball was 87-89, touching 90, with some downward plane and a bit of late armside run that gets some depth. Slider was 71-73 with some armspeed and late hard 10/4 break to it.
