Murphy is 6-0 with an athletic frame that has some strength in the lower half and some projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a slightly open balanced athletic stance, strides on line, smooth load back. Hips rotate completely and he maintains some lower half balance. Hands stay inside, quick to the ball, slightly uphill line drive swing path, showed a good approach using whole field, strong at contact, exit velocity was 84. Behind the plate, clean exchange, throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, position velocity was 72 and pop times 2.06-2.18. On the mound, he throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, short free arm action and normal effort to his drop and drive delivery. Shoulders are level and closed, lands slightly closed with a slight fall off finish. Fastball was 75-78, with some late boring action to armside. Curveball had good armspeed and was 66-69 with sharp 11/5 break to it. Cutter was 70-71 with some late 10/4 bite to it.
