Nugent is 5-9 with a lanky athletic 140 pound frame that has a lot of room to add strength to it. He hits from the right side from an open taller relaxed stance, low leg kick stride on line, short smooth load back. Hips rotate completely and he maintains good lower half balance. Hands stay inside, short to the ball, slightly uphill line drive swing path, showed a good approach working the whole field, exit velocity was 74. In the outfield, gets body behind the ball and fields through it with average hands, clean exchange, throws from a low three-quarters arm slot, short arm action, position velocity was 70. On the mound, he throws from a three-quarters arm slot, long free arm action and normal effort to his delivery. Shoulders are uphill and closed, lands on line with a fall-off finish. Fastball was 72-74, touching 75, with some downward angle and some late run to armside. Slider was 64-68 with good armspeed and hard late 11/5 break to it. Change-up was 66-67 with good armspeed and fading action with a lot of depth.
