Athletic projectable frame. High leg kick to hip loadwith down to out and average backside involvement. Gets hips involved. Short arm action throwing from high three quarter slot. Hides ball well. Pitches with regular effort. Fastball has slight run on occasion and mixes with slight sink to the pitch at times as well. Ranged 77-79. Breaking ball has shorter action and potential on the pitch. More in the tank as he develops and with more reps. Interesting to keep an eye on.
VA/DC State Games
Janney is 6-0 with a lankier athletic frame that has some strength in the lower half and a lot of projection left to it. He hits from the right side from an open balanced athletic stance, low leg kick stride on line, smooth load back to a slight wrap. Hips rotate completely with some violence and he maintains good lower half balance. Hands stay inside, short and quick to the ball, uphill swing with some strength at contact and good extension through the ball, showed a good approach working gap to gap, some power present in the gaps with projection for more to come, exit velocity was 87. In the infield, rounds ball and fields with a wider base and above average hands. Works through the ball to a quick clean echange, throws from a lower three-quarters arm slot, short arm action, infield velocity was 73. Ran a 7.62 60 yard dash.
