2.11.17:  Strout is 5-10 with an athletic frame, drop and drive delivery, throws from a high three-quarters arm slot with a long free arm action and some effort. Shoulders uphill and slightly closed, strides to square landing with a fall off finish. Fastball was 77-79 with some late run and downward plane. Curveball had hard 12/6 break and was 65-66. Change-up was 66-68 with good armspeed and fading action. Slider was 67-68 with hard downer action. At the plate, hits from the left side from an open athletic stance, short stride closed and load back to arm bar. Weight shifts during swing, generates some hip rotation and has some balance. Swing works uphill, has a pull approach with some power potential, exit velocity was 88. In the outfield, gets behind ball and plays through it, average hands and a clean exchange, throws from a high three-quarters arm slot with a short arm action, outfield velocity was 82. Ran a 4.14 home to first.

2.15.15 Strout has an athletic frame and throws from a high three-quarters slot. He has a very short, stiff backside arm action, but with some effort, he has a quick arm. He stays on line as he strides out and his shoulders are uphill and closed at footstrike. He falls off after his finish. Strout’s fastball ran 71-74 mph with some slight run to it. He also flashed a cutter that ran 68 mph. His curveball had gradual 11/5 action to it and was 59-62 mph and will be good as it tightens up. Strout’s commanded his change-up well and it had fading action to it, running 64-66 mph.  Offensively, hit from an athletic stance.  Has a slight arm bar.  Tendency to over stride but stayed on line and was balanced.  Had a good approach with a somewhat stiff rhythm.  Showed a level bat path that had some length.  Line drive stroke.  Had a Exit Velocity of 74 mph.  In the field, threw from a over the top arm slot with a short arm action.  Throws were accurate and had carry.  Was athletic and played through the ball.  Everything was quick.  Fast twitch.  Exchanges were clean.  Footwork was fluid.  Fast actions.  Had a Positional Velocity of 78 mph.
