5.18.16:  Burgess is an athletic middle infielder with good range and soft, quick hands. He has a quick exchange and an average arm that plays up at second base. At the plate, he has a short swing and quick hands as well as good speed, making him a threat on the bases.

6.23.15 Hit from a balanced/athletic stance that was tall with slightly bent knees. Had a smooth load back and kept his hands high. Took a short stride and showed excellent balance throughout the swing. Had an advanced approach at the plate. Short bat path that was level with extension. Line drive stroke that was gap to gap.  Uses lower half very well and had an exit velocity of 85 mph. In the field, threw from a high 3/4 arms slot with a short arm action that was accurate. Throws had some carry. Showed soft hands with quick fluid footwork. Exchanges were click and clean. Was athletic in the field and played through the ball very well. Had outstanding feel at second base and outstanding actions. Turns the double play very well. Had a positional velocity of 78 mph.

2.22.15 Hit from a tall/balanced athletic stance that was slightly open.  Load went back, but had a slight arm bar.  Stride was long, but maintained his balance throughout the swing.  Swing path was short/level with good extension.  Had an Exit Velocity of 87 mph.  Rhythm did get stiff at times, but his good hands made up for it.  With a lower half that is explosive and fast hands he should be a good line drive, gap to gap hitter.  In the field, he threw from a high ¾ arm slot.  Throws were accurate with a quick release.  He had a Positional Velocity of 71 MPH.  His hands were soft and allowed for clean exchanges.  Showed good footwork, but sat back on heels at times.
