Positional Profile: RHP/1B
Body: 6-0, 252-pounds.
Delivery: Works from both the windup and stretch. In the windup, starts square on the first base side of the rubber with a quicker tempo. Hands come set high and will swim out, but he does a good job finishing back on line at release. From the stretch, hands are held away from the body at the bottom of the chest and the lower half is not fully engaged yet. Overall delivery shows athletic intent with room to continue syncing up as he matures.
Arm Action: RH. High 3/4 arm slot with a short arm action and some quickness through the delivery. Shows healthy deceleration at times, though he can recoil and fall off toward the first base side. Arm works freely and shows a lot of promise for a young arm as he continues to gain strength and consistency.
FB: T84, 82-84 mph. Shows solid life through the zone with the ability to miss barrels when he stays on line. Pitch plays best when he keeps his direction toward the plate and allows the arm speed to work naturally. T2186, 2085 average rpm.
CB: 68-70 mph. Breaking ball shows depth with a more vertical shape. Can be landed in the zone and used to change eye levels, giving him a secondary option to disrupt hitters’ timing. T2013, 1897 average rpm.
SPLT: 70-72 mph. Shows late drop and separation off the fastball. Flashes as a swing and miss pitch when thrown with conviction and adds another layer to his pitch mix moving forward.
ATH: 8.12 runner in the 60. 1.92 and 4.47 in the 10 and 30 yard splits.
Positional Profile: RHP/1B
Body: 6-0, 252-pounds.
Hit: RHH. Feet are set at shoulder width and square to the plate. Hands are set even with the shoulder, giving him a simple and repeatable setup. Swing works on a more uphill path with minimal use of the lower half. Will pull off the ball at times and favors the pull side, though the hands do work directly to contact when on time. 77.8 mph bat speed with 11 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 99 max exit velocity, averaged 93.2 mph. 338' max distance.
Arm: RH. INF-74 mph. Longer arm action with a slower transfer limits how quickly the ball gets out. Arm strength is modest and plays best on routine throws when he has time to set up.
Defense: Fair footwork around the bag, but can be late getting the glove down and will let the ball get too deep at times. Slower overall mover, and continuing to clean up the timing and actions will help improve consistency at first base.
ATH: 8.12 runner in the 60. 1.92 and 4.47 in the 10 and 30 yard splits.
Vizual Edge: 50.41 Edge Score
