Wineinger has been a fun watch this year. He is an intriguing athletic C for the 2026 class with fluid actions behind the dish and consistently produces at the plate. Coming off a big weekend where he hit a walkoff grandslam vs St. Francis, the C looked to stay hot in the first round of the WCAL tournament. He did so by roping a clutch RBI 1B to LF, keeping a big inning going for the Wildcats. Most of his hits in the games I have attended have been to his pull side. This is due to his extremely quick hands and level bat path through the zone. He may not consistently make the hardest contact, but he sure hits them where players are not. His simple swing at the dish is repetitive and he puts up great at bats, especially with RISP. Behind the plate he is a gamer as he blocks well with good framing and a good arm. He does a great job commanding the defense and seems to make pitchers look comfortable throwing to him. There are many reasons to like Wineinger, as he is a player with a consistent bat and is a sure long term C at the next level.
