Positional Profile: SS/RHP
Physical: 5-9, 180-pounds; Sturdy, broad shouldered build. 7.59 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Open setup, with feet shoulder width apart; has a pre-pitch bat waggle. Loads straight back with a gliding stride for timing. Drifts into contact while showing an aggressive lower half. Showed a downward swing path with one-handed finish. More line drives than flyballs and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 93 MPH via Trackman. Heavy LD% with strong barrel control metrics, stays on-plane while peppering LDs in middle of the field.
Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; uses prep hop while showing active feet. Hands are out in front while funneling to the hip before transfer. Short take back from a standard 3/4 arm slot. INF - 68 MPH. Steady within his range capabilities, soft hands, lower-3/4 slot while occasionally flipping under the ball, gets ball out fairly quickly while at times patting the glove.
Pitching: Uses a center rubber setup while using a side step. Belt high leg drive with shoulders above the hips. Has a moderate stride while landing slightly closed. Moderate arm swing while demonstrating segmented stop and go action; high-3/4 slot. Square to the plate with finish. FB: Peak velo of 78 MPH, while sitting 76-78 MPH; straight action. SL: 74-75 MPH; short action. CH: 76-78 MPH; maintains same plain. Slight cross body stride plays well with ability to feel the SL out of the stretch where he can start it at the hip and break into the zone, simple arm action and mechanics suggests strike throwing ability.
Monterey Bay Hitting Update:
Slightly opened stance, high hands using big hand pull back. Strong for size and frame showing upward loose barrel; launch swing made improvements from round to round. Tends to have hands get around ball as most of contact goes to pullside.
