The Cal commits led the charge for St. Mary’s in the extra-inning victory. Hitting out of the 2-hole, Errecart went 1-3 on the day with a double and multiple hard-hit balls. With a disciplined approach at the plate, Errecart worked multiple deep counts throughout the game with no chase out of the zone. After striking out on a full count in the top of the 1st, Errecart showcased good bat-to-ball skills throughout the rest of the day. After being down 0-2 in his second at-bat, Errecart got a piece of fastball that he just missed, grounding out hard to SS for an FC. His third at-bat, though, is what really piqued my interest. Leading off in the top of the 6th, Errecart just missed a HR on a 3-1 breaking ball inside, hitting it high off netting in RCF for a double. Errecart would come around to score on the Grove single to tie the game. Errecart would follow this up by working a five-pitch walk to open the top of the 8th and wound up scoring the game-winning on a two run double. With quick hands, good weight transfer, and the ability to hit the ball the other way, Errecart should continue to excel near the top of the St. Mary’s lineup.
