ACG Tryout - Elvis had one of the most impressive overall tryouts among all players. A strong blocker and receiver, his plus arm translates behind the plate at 82 mph with a 1.93-2.05 pop time and on the mound where he touched 88 mph. He ran a 6.92 second 60 yard dash and took extra bases during the live scrimmage. Also a switch hitter, Elvis’ quick hands help him make lots of hard contact out front (smoked two doubles). For good measure was in the uppers 80s on the mound as well.
Bay Area World Series Underclass (6/4/21-6/6/21)
Offensive notes: Similar high hands and high back elbow stance on both sides of plate. Comes together on load holding back hip hinge well with forward move. When he stays connected the ability to make hard contact out front from direct hand path shows up and allows him to drive the ball with a gap-to-gap approach. 60-yard - 7.37 / EV mph - 88
Left-hand stance sees him pull the front side a big more with harder contact to pull side. Moves well underway and instinctual actions on the bases. Athletic build, squared shoulders and length in limbs projecting strong firm build in future.
Defensive notes: Catcher - strongest arm of the group and quick out of the hand with a longer am action. Very accurate pulling glove to hand and using his athleticism. Very strong blocking and receiving skills including in game where he caught runner at 3rd. Infield - Some lateral range and athletic actions when moving that way. Longer arm with strength in the throws on downward angle to the bag. C mph - 79 / Pops - 2.07-2.18
