Rose

Rose remained in the cleanup spot, but was behind the dish for the night as opposed to the hot corner. Rose is just as good of a catcher as he is a third baseman. He shows good patience behind the plate with receiving, and doesn’t take off pitches when his blocking is needed. To cap it off, he showed an in-game pop time of 2.03 to nail a would be runner showcasing all of the tools needed from a catcher. Offensively, it was a good day for Rose going 1 for 3 at the plate with a double in the left center gap. Still only a 2026, Rose has room to fill into his 6’2 frame that will no doubt add more power and speed to his game.

Hitting out of the cleanup spot, Rose delivered several RBI’s on the day en route to a Clovis 9-0 victory. Starting from an open stance, Rose closes up and has quick hands with plenty of power behind them. Both of his hits were line shots to different parts of the field that delivered in a run. At a strong 6’2, Rose clearly looks the part of a cleanup spot. However, he isn’t just a quality bat, but a solid defender at the hot corner. Showing his range on a bunt down the line, a grounder to his glove side, and a high chopper were all outs as a result of his fielding skills. Rose remains uncommitted, but there are plenty of skills to like for the 2026 grad.
