The Cal Poly SLO signee was electric on this afternoon finishing 3-for-4 with one of the best defensive plays in the game. Led the bottom of the first off with a double before getting thrown out trying to stretch it into a triple. It was a sign of things to come for Porch. In his second at-bat, with the bases loaded, Porch took an outer half slider to left field for a two-RBI double. He finished his offensive day with a hard hit ball to the right center field gap that resulted in a triple. With Marina threatening to get back into the game in the bottom of the third, Porch ran about 30 yards to his left and in before making a full extension diving catch to end the threat. It’s a compact, yet powerful, stroke at the dish that shows the ability to hit to all fields. A quintessential leadoff hitter, Porch possesses enough arm strength to play center field as he moves onto the next level.
