vs Drake - Uncommitted; stocky/compact 5-foot-9, 175-pounds, had a solid day (2-for-4) as he usually does when I've seen him. Quiet in the box, quick hands, routinely finds the barrel as well. Occasionally got out of a good approach in this game but by his last at-bat he had locked back in (which is the first at-bat in the video). Good backside trigger more often than not, indicating he's ready to hit each pitch. Was hunting middle in for the most part, as was just every one of his teammates, but the Drake pitcher just didn't give in to that spot. Lewis has trimmed up his body in the last year (also a varsity player as a frosh) and looks good. Playing SS more out of necessity for PHS as he profiles better at 3B or 2B. Good arm, hands are solid, but it's the bat that is the tool that will earn him future opportunities at the college level.
Stocky 5-foot-8 180-pound build, starting 3rd baseman, confident player, offensively he does a good job of getting the barrel to the ball on time and stays behind the ball well. Ball gets off his bat well with some extra base pop that will play as homer power in high school. Easy bat speed and good hitting hands with a quick trigger. Defensively moves his feet well, showed soft hands and a strong arm that carried easily across the diamond.
