Newhouse continues to rise for me personally and this outing was another checkmark upwards for him. Coming on in relief behind the Knights starter he attacked threw a clean first inning of relief working off a 89-91 MPH FB that touched 92 MPH with a biting 78-80 MPH SLD that collected whiffs to help him get two Ks in the first inning while also dropping in a deceptive 78-80 MPH CHG. He works with a loose, long fast arm action while showing control of all three pitches within the strike zone. Newhouse collected one more punchout in his second inning of work before exiting after a freak accident when a throw from an INF struck him on a first and third play.

6’3 righthander out of the Notre Dame was outstanding in his 5 hitter look punching out 3 hitters while flashing a starter profile 3 pitch mix with control of the zone & ability to miss bats with each pitch. FB was at 87-88 has been up to 91 but mixed in a devastating SLD/CHG duo that confused hitters. Newhouse started 2025 right where he left off in 2024 with his arrow pointed straight up!
