Bay Area World Series 2022 - Uncommitted; Lean strong athletic body type on sturdy frame, flashed enough raw stuff and pitchability at BAWS to put him on the map as a senior RHP to check in on during the 2023 spring season, clean arm action with compact backside, repeatable athletic delivery, FB peaked at 85 mph while sitting 83-84, max spin of 2262 with ability to work down effectively in the zone, has feel for throwing strikes w/FB and there is also just enough arm side run to help protect the outer half for his breaking ball, SL 77-81 mph w/ smaller break and out of same release height as the FB though extension is a bit shorter, used CHG once in his outing, big spin reduction off the FB look with ability to get late dive into the zone.
Positional Profile: RHP/3B
Physical: 6-0, 180-pounds; Athletic, proportional build. 7.46 runner in the 60.
Pitching: Uses a glove side setup working primarily from the stretch. Belt high leg drive with a slight lean over the belt. Has a short stride landing inline with the plate. Short take back while showing some scap load; high 3/4 slot. Spins off 1B side with finish. FB: Peak velo of 83 MPH, while sitting 81-82 MPH; straight action. SL: 77-80 MPH; lateral action. CH: 75-77 MPH; fading action. Athletic delivery, quick arm, has body control through delivery, stuff flashes lively action and repertoire with pitches that complement each other.
Offensively: RHH. Open setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; upright bat position. Short take back with the hands with a moderate leg kick for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a direct swing path with two handed finish. More line drives than fly balls and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 87 MPH via Trackman. Short finish, has strength, found barrel at a high clip (71.4% sweet spot), put ball in air easily, has capabilities of making spray line drive type contact.
Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; uses prep hop while covering ground laterally. Hands are out in front with a clean transfer. Moderate arm circle from a standard 3/4 arm slot. 3B - 79 MPH. Showed range for the position, arm plays though better when throwing with feet set under him, starts wide and ready with focus and intensity.
