Latshaw turned in a strong performance on the mound for Oaks Christian, showing polish and poise throughout his outing. The right-hander sat 87–90 mph, touching 92, and mixed in a mid-70s splitter and slider that generated consistent swing-and-miss action. He attacked hitters early with a fastball-heavy approach and wasn't afraid to pitch to contact, trusting his defense to make plays behind him. Latshaw showed composure and maturity beyond his years, working efficiently and limiting hard contact—the only real threat came on a squared-up ball in the 4th. His ability to command the zone and generate high spin rates gives him legitimate next-level upside on the mound. A true two-way threat, Latshaw is also swinging it well this year—batting .427 with 6 home runs in a loaded Oaks Christian lineup. With his arm talent and bat, he offers intriguing potential as a two-way player at the next level.

The two-way uncommitted ‘25 from Oaks has given me plenty of strong looks over the past two years where I have dove into the tools and upside for Latshaw. With each continued look at Latshaw his profile continues to convince me of his ability to really help a college program either on the mound, in the OF (strong CF/RF defensive profile) or at the dish with a solid RH swing. Latshaw got on top of a low FB in his first trip to the dish where he chopped a slow hopper to the 5-6 hole that his solid athletic ability allowed him to leg out for an RBI INF single. Then in the seventh inning he took the bump for an inning of impressive relief. With easy arm speed from a loose ¾ slot and showing a clean operation moving down the mound there is now ability with Latshaw, but even more projection to his ability on the bump. Working heavily off a FB in the 87-89 MPH range showing life through the zone (flashes more run than ride in the shape) the RHP dropped in one SPLT at 73 MPH and one 77 MPH SLD. Lathsaw induced a pair 5-3 groundouts (one on the SPLT / one on the FB) before picking up a looking strikeout on a well located FB down/away to a RHH. It was a quick look with just over 10 total pitches on the day, but once again Latshaw had me leaving the park wondering why he is still uncommitted in the 2025 class with his profile very capable of helping a college program come 2026 and beyond.

2025 SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA MLK WEEKEND SCOUT NOTEBOOK: In game two vs Santiago the senior righty displayed a lengthy six foot five frame. Produced a heavy amount of swing & miss and found the strike zone with his secondary pitches. With his fastball up to 87 with run, Latshaw paired his splitter (77) with a slider & curve. The righty’s overall pitch actions worked east and west of the zone keeping hitters unbalanced the majority of at bats. Displayed feel for late action splitter which combo’d well with his armside tailing fastball. Splitter worked as an out pitch with fastball showing armside run while slider has projection with sweep & light depth. After watching his outing, the uncommitted senior showed why he’s a name to watch for on the uncommitted list as the season looks to begin.
