First look at Tofigh who took the start at 3B against Terra Nova and he displayed a competitive approach at the dish with solid bat to ball skills. On the season Tofigh is batting with a .309 AVG/ 397 OBP through 17 GP and my look at him today showed why he is having a successful season thus far. Tofigh presents a lean frame at the plate and is a contact heavy hitter that can hit pitches in or slightly out of his zone thanks to his short compact swing. Using a toe-tap to stay behind the baseball, he did a great job being aggressive while controlling the zone and looking for a pitch to drive. He had a big swing with the bases loaded, turning on an inside pitch that went down the LF line for a 2 RBI 2B. His quick hands and strong frontside flashed in his 2 hit day. Overall, Tofigh plays the game aggressively on both sides of the diamond as he has a good glove at 3B and consistently can make contact at the plate.
