Positional Profile: 1B/RHP
Physical: 6-1, 185-pounds; Rangy, long build. 7.95 runner in the 60.
Offensively: LHH. Open setup, with feet wide spread; flat bat to start. Extended take back of the hands with a heel lift for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing an average effort from the legs. Showed a flat swing path with a finish around the back. More ground balls than line drives and fly balls with a peak exit velocity of 92 MPH via Trackman. Loose stroke, strong hard hit % number, somewhat upright throughout the swing which kept him above the ball a bit, stayed on-plane at a 73.7% clip.
Defensively: Starts with an upright /tall setup; walks into ready position while showing active feet. Hands are sure and confident with a clean transfer. Long arm swing from a standard 3/4 arm slot. 1B - 75 MPH. Focused approach, aggressive to ball, showed light feet, understands ball first principle, confident in his glove and footwork skills.
Pitching: Uses a center rubber setup working primarily from the stretch. Mid chest leg drive with shoulders above the hips. Has a long stride while landing closed. Long arm swing while wrist hooks behind back; standard 3/4 slot. Square to the plate with finish. FB: Peak velo of 76 MPH, while sitting 74-76 MPH; straight action. SL: 61-62 MPH; 2-tier break. CH: 68-70 MPH; fading action. Loose arm, can lower slot if need be for a different look, big slippery whiffle ball like SL is best pitch.
