Uncommitted; VERY interesting player with a wealth of hitting tools and potential, which we'd seen previously in a tourney last year. He's got a good frame, frankly a big league body type and the type of bat speed and raw power that make a future plus grade on the raw power easy to give. Swing and approach were way to big in this one, with an 0-for-4 day and all four via the swinging K. About 3/4 of his max swing and a middle of the field approach would elicit different results vs quality pitching like he saw in this game. There are some flaws in his set-up and first move mechanics in his swing that create length and expose him to higher velocities. Would love to see what a year or two at a quality JC could do for him. Comp that comes to mind in regard to the power and EASY bat speed is Chris Carter. Defensively played 3rd base and has light feet and a loose arm, was better on plays to his left than those right at him. Not often I'd write about a kid with that type of 0-for-4 but gut feel says he has a real chance.
Upperclass Tourney - Big frame with graceful athletic actions, physical now but not yet physically mature, chance to be one of Northern California's top power hitters in the 2019 class, similar easy power to former MLB slugger Chris Carter, drives the ball to all fields with power, quick hands and good barrel whip, possible middle of line-up impact-type player, showed a good glove on defense at first base, good ability to scoop balls in the dirt. The overall profile is one that will draw pro attention in the spring of 2019. BP round was jaw dropping as he hit balls out in parts of that facility that balls generally don't go out to. Easy easy easy juice.
