Bay Area World Series 2022 - Uncommitted; One of top uncommitted 2023 catchers and players in Northern CA, compact body type with strength, agility and spring in his defensive actions, has significant leg strength that translates to explosiveness in his actions, impactful talent behind the plate both with physical abilities and intangibles, doesn't take long to see that he loves the game and has the make-up to be a difference maker in a program (yes, big statement), ran 6.85 60-yd, 74 mph max C throw, pops 2.04-2.12 and accurate, receives well, plays balls in front of plate well, talks well, offensively went 2-for-7 with a pair of singles and some hard outs as L3 and L9, all field approach and its something that shows up in a BP and in both HS and showcase games, RBI man and/or capable of being a 2-spot in order, max EV of 89 which is modest and will climb, 54.5% sweet spot %, 36% line drives, the hitting metrics may speak to his offensive ceiling but watching him hit in games tells the story of a player who performs above metrics.
at Wood HS - Uncommitted; Compact build on stout body type with some strength, loved the performance in this game in all phases of the game, outstanding hitting approach to middle and oppo field, knack for the RBI, plays hard, light and athletic feet behind the plate with instinctive athleticism for the position, received well, good block effort, quick exhange and release (had warm-up pops 2.08-2.16, 71 mph), could add a couple of mph to the raw arm strength as something to work on. Ran bases well, has some speed (4.36 down line), hit well situationally. First and only time seeing this player but it was a very strong impression.
