Event: South Bay Preseason ID
Positional Profile: OF
Physical: 6-0, 160-pounds; 7.30 60-yard (previous event), 22.1” max jump height; Lean sinewy strength throughout athletic build.
Offensively: RH. EV max – 88.5 mph, hand speed max – 20.2 mph, bat speed max – 68.7 mph; Wider feet, balanced set-up, slightly off plate, hands stars in lower slot before moving up and back into load, medium knee lift out to stride, flat swing plane that works in a somewhat rotational manner, keeps ball out of air, keeps head on ball through contact, gap to gap line drive approach.
Defensively: OF – 87 mph; Direct to ball with some urgency, quick reads to get in direct line to target, gets ball out quickly with above average velocity, tools project to either corner OF spot.
Bay Area World Series 2022 - Uncommitted; Lean wiry athlete body type, flashes tools and usability to fairly project him as a contributor beyond the HS level sooner or later, 86 mph OF throw shows the raw arm strength, tracks ball well though doesn't have blazing speed (7.30 60-yd), has good process at plate, feel for getting hits, has barrel awareness and a high level of competitiveness in the box, as he gains physicality his hit tools will emerge more brightly.
Positional Profile: OF
Physical: 6-0, 155-pounds; Athletic, lean build. 7.85 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; bat positioned at a 45 degree angle. Short take back with the hands with a slight leg-kick for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a slight lift to the ball with two handed finish. More fly balls than line drives and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 87 MPH via Trackman. Keeps top hand above ball to and through it, all fly balls and line drives, approach to put ball in air, showed barrel awareness, somewhat pull-side dominant, does flash some power potential.
Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; uses prep hop while being aggressive. Hands are off to the side while funneling to the hip before transfer. Long arm swing from a high/over the top arm slot. OF - 86 MPH. Balanced with first move getting him in-line do his target, light feet, strong arm with ability to thwart baserunners, range potential is fair so positioning and reaction times are keys.
at Sacred Heart Cathedral - Lean with athletic proportions and some strength on a young man, off to strong start as a varsity player in his freshman year, showed both the positive and some expected struggles for a young player at the level, has hand speed, has willingness to use the middle of the field, knows where the barrel is and how to get on time, got caught taking FBs a few times in counts that were hitting counts which tends to show some youthful lack of consistent approach, outstanding base runner with aggressiveness to take extra bag and force OF into a mistake, range showed up as above average in RF and showed the ability to go deep to the fence/line and maintain concentration. Plays with an edge and looks to have a lot to offer as he matures through the HS years.
