A measure of any athlete's body strength and reach calculated from the flight time divided by the contact time.
The uncommitted senior was masterful over his 4.2 innings pitched where he scattered three hits, walked one, and struck out six. Working the fastball up to 93mph, he lived 91-92mph while dipping to 89-90 in the 5th inning. As good as the fastball and his command of it were, the slider was equally impressive as he was able to land it for strikes consistently while inducing whiffs. Working 75-77mph with the pitch, Reimers used it early in counts early in his outing before making it a strikeout pitch later in the outing. Reimers’s changeup was also very effective at 79-83mph as he used it as a change-of-pace pitch while landing it for strikes. As far as first outings of the season go, Reimers’s start was about as good as it gets.
