Pugliese put together a huge day at the plate, launching two home runs and knocking in four to help power the Golden Bears’ offense. He nearly left the yard for a third time in his final at-bat, just missing another homer on a loud flyout to the pull side. The swing is aggressive but controlled. Pugliese doesn’t get cheated in the box and attacks pitches with intent. His approach is simple and direct, allowing him to get the barrel out front and drive the ball with authority. The power plays to the pull side right now, and the way he gets his hands extended through the zone gives his swing real impact potential. On the season, Pugliese is now hitting .292 with 12 RBIs, a .346 OBP, and a healthy .563 slugging percentage, showcasing his ability to produce runs and hit for extra bases. With a physical presence and developing offensive consistency, he’s becoming a key piece in the middle of Temecula Valley’s lineup, which comes at the perfect time with league play in full force.
