ACG Tryout - Very physical, muscular athlete. Has an extremely wide base and high hands with his bat slightly wrapped behind his head. Heel lift timing mechanism. Huge present power. Had some of the highest exit velocities of the event. Defensively, Medicoff has a huge catch radius and sure hands. Picks very well. Ran a 6.95 second 60 yard dash.
Event: NorCal ProCase
Positional Profile: 1B/OF
Physical: 6-2, 205 pounds; strong athletic build; 6.94 60
Offensively: RH. EV max – 100.1 mph, hand speed max – 25.2 mph, bat speed max – 71.7 mph; Low and wide athletic stance, crushes the ball. Essentially no stride, just lifts front heel off the ground and goes.
Defensively: Tall and commanding presence at first; Agile on getting to balls on his right and fielding in a good position. Good flexibility on stretches at first.
NorCal Uncommitted Games - Big, physical, and fast, he's one of the more impressive combinations of tools and body and ability to perform in his class, especially among uncommitted juniors. Ran a 7.07 with the second fasted 10-yard split at event (26.2" vertical jump), posted 102 max EV, 73.4 mph avg bat speed, 25.4 max hand speed, 76% on-plane efficiency, so the tools are there. Game play showed his ability to get to the hitting tools, with a hard hit L4 and LOUD double to deep LCF.
Bay Area World Series 2022 - Uncommitted; Long rangy body with some strength through the shoulders which presents as prototypical for a RHP high school pitching prospect, has a clean arm action with fluid mechanics, raw velo wasn't as firm as was seen in a spring game, topped at 82 mph at BAWS, has some horizontal movement and lower spin that both suggest he can develop a sinker with depth in bottom of zone, extension number also can allow his stuff to play well as a sinkerball type of pitcher, slow curveball (66-68 mph) with both tumbling depth and some lateral action, flashed CHG which presented similarly to the FB, cutter with slight movment and near FB velocity suggests he's got a chance to develop the cutter. As a 2024 rising junior he's one to check in on during his spring season.
