One of the most important factors in winning baseball games is building early momentum and that’s exactly what Trenton Uyeda brought to the table for Poway. Starting in his usual leadoff spot, Uyeda wasted no time making an impact, lining a single up the middle to open the game. He quickly became a problem on the bases, swiping two bags and ultimately scoring the Titans’ first run of the day. Having a table-setter who can spark the offense right away is a game-changer, and Uyeda plays the leadoff role to perfection. On top of the early momentum, Uyeda also drove in a run of his own with sac-fly that contributed to the 4-1 victory. His performance against Santa Fe Christian was a clear example of how valuable that kind of presence is at the top of a lineup, and I am definitely excited for what more impact Uyeda can do in games going forward in the season.
