Hitting 2nd for Campolindo, the Occidental College commit put together four competitive AB’s on the day in the win over Vacaville, demonstrating minimal swing-and-miss in his game (zero whiffs on nine swings). After a fly out to LF and a pop up in foul territory in his first two trips, the left-handed hitting Meyers worked a tough eight-pitch battle against a LHP, fouling off three 2-strike pitches before barreling a high fly ball into medium left with a runner on 3rd. What looked to be a sure SF was cut down at the plate thanks to a great relay from the Vacaville defense to end the innings. Meyers would end his day by roping a 1-0 SL to RF for a line drive single and by working a four-pitch BB. Standing at 6’ 1”, 195 lbs, Myers stands tall at the plate, demonstrating a smooth load and getting into his front side well. Currently more of a line drive/gap-to-gap hitter, I believe Myers has room to add more of a power element to his game by getting slightly more into his backside during his load. An all-fields approach at the plate, Myers shows solid bat speed and a level bat path that stays through the zone to pair with smart baserunning for an intriguing offensive profile.
