The Freshman was given a great opportunity as he was the SP in game 2. Across his 5IP he showed 3 competitive pitches and attacked with each in any count. His FB was 80-82 and produced weak contact as well as swing and miss. He relied on his SL as the primary breaker at 70-73, showing very tight HZB. The SPL was another great offering that fell right off the table and fooled hitters often (70-72). He only gave up 2 hits (1 bloop) and allowed 0 runs across, keeping the Bulldogs up 1-0 when he exited. Roop has a very whippy arm from a 3/4 slot as he was able to hide the ball through delivery. With chances to get innings for this potent team, Roop is gaining valuable experience with much more to come.
