The 2026 Southeast Super Sophomore Games will be ascending onto Lakepoint Sports this weekend, and offers the perfect way to close out what’s been another outstanding summer circuit.

A handful of talent-rich states will be attending this weekend including Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, Mississippi and of course Georgia with each state bringing multiple teams for what should be a tremendous showing overall for the class of 2029 with many nationally-ranked players in attendance.

With Georgia bringing the most teams in the event at six, we take a quick look and roster breakdown of each team into some different categories. With nearly two-thirds of the state’s top 50 2029s and a great group of potential breakouts, this should be a great time to show why we are so bullish on this upcoming sophomore class here in the Peach State.

Team 1

Hudson Pursell, RHP/OF, 2029, Wesleyan

Carson Clark, C, 2029, Cambridge

Zeke Dotson, RHP/C, 2029, Dawson County

Bates Harrison, OF, 2029, Metter

- Pursell made waves throughout the spring as one of the top freshman arms in the state as the RHP posted a sub-1.00 ERA en route to a private state championship with Wesleyan. The bat has now shown up all summer long and is beginning to round into a true two-way profile prior to what could be an even bigger sophomore year. Clark and Dotson grew into middle-of-the-order bats in a hurry as freshman last year and could have double-digit potential this upcoming spring with Dotson showing a path towards becoming a frontline starter for Dawson County at the same time with low-90s velo and pitchability that keeps getting better. Bates Harrison brings the gamer profile that fits South Georgia to a tee and backs it up with carrying tools in both the run and hit tools that could be above-average at peak

- The trio of outfielders in Williams, Cianciolo, and Cannon bring high-floor profiles respectively with each showing big growth throughout 2026. Williams missed a big chunk of the year with an injury and has come back with a vengence to close out the summer circuit. True CF profile with plus speed that plays extremely well on the base paths and the OF will be determined to make a statement among his peers this weekend. Cianciolo and Cannon both showed improved hit tools throughout this summer, showing all-fields approaches and ability to provide value in multiple spots in the lineup with high-floor corner outfield gloves to match. Search instantly stood out as one of the best defenders in the class this past spring with ability to profile at any position in the dirt and providing a high-floor bat that lives gap-to-gap. The two-way profile for Munoz has really developed over the last 12 months, showing pitchability on the mound with a much-improved hit tool to match that’s thrived in big moments this summer. Kisz and Nixon are the perfect high-floor middle-infield prospects that point to the depth of this 2029 class as both have a chance to impact the game on both sides and have shown well for our staff now across many settings.

-Roop and McGrath both offer physical 6-foot-1 frames that have added significant strength since we’ve seen them last and could have a chance to make a name for themselves to close out the summer.

-Bullish on the hit tool for Dockter feels like an understatement as there’s a chance for an above-average or better tool long-term for LHH and now beginning to grow into some all-fields power that could show extremely well this weekend to close the summer right. You’d be hard pressed to find a duo that provides more impact than the Radics Twins, who show toolshed profiles that stand out often and look to have some of the higher ceilings in the entire class as both fit firmly among the Top 100 nationally. If there’s a player in the 2029 class I’d be willing to bet on it just might be Myles Rahm. Lean, projectable 6-foot-1 frame that showed strong tools across the board at Top Prospect Games in June and will be looking for another standout performance to keep the stock moving. Hit tool stood out immediately for Caleb Pearson this spring with a compact left-handed swing that boasts innate barrel accuracy and will have a chance to really breakout with a good showing this weekend. Hopper is another outfielder with a real chance to explode in this setting with a twitchy, athletic profile that can flash above-average tools across the board.

-Brennan could mess around and offer one of the highest floors of anyone in the class with the way the development has looked the last calendar year. Excellent hands throughout the zone with aptitude to work backside and spoil good pitching often. Positional value only takes the profile to an even higher level. Nolan Idol is a bonafide hitter that’s proven himself time and time again with a simple right-handed cut that controls the strike zone well and shows some budding whip in the barrel that can point to some future power as he develops physically. In-game production for Federico is stacking up at a rapid rate already with a heavy pull-side approach that shines due to advanced accuracy in the barrel and can be a steady defender at 1B as well. Tylke is another talent in the Harrison pipeline that’s become a recent powerhouse program and has done nothing but perform this summer. Compact RH swing uses the whole field with strong high-floor tools that can play across the dirt as well.

Bradford Smith, OF, 2029, Wesleyan

Sawyer Ferguson, C, 2029, Allatoona

Ryan Peckham, SS, 2029, Holy Innocents

-Bradford Smith has shown a potent barrel all summer long, flashing impressive bat speed at TPG in June with a well-leveraged barrel that shows ability to generate sneaky carry from a compact 5-foot-9 frame. Ferguson has the path to a strong hit tool with great length in-zone and ability to find damage anywhere in the zone as the barrel feel continues to grow.

Team 3

Proven Freshman

#1 ranked catcher nationally, Xavier Rodriguez, C, 2029, Archer, holds advanced tools for the age with sky-high projection. Present strength at the dish from both sides of the plate in a relaxed approach while being tough to beat in-zone with strong pitch recognition and ability to adjust. Highest end tools behind the plate as well that will carry long-term with effortless actions and athleticism throughout. The crop of catching talent in the state runs deep as Rylan Long, C, 2029, Mount Paran comes in behind Rodriguez as the #2 nationally ranked catcher in the class. It’s an extremely high-floor profile with a potent hit/power combo that continues to develop at a rapid rate while showing a polished defensive makeup with potential plus tools that round out the profile. Long is on track to be a staple in this class for the coming years with continued production time and time again. RJ Westbrook, LHP/OF, 2029, Mount Paran, ranked top 10 in the state, is armed with loud two-way tools while there is still so much more to project in the frame/profile. Feel to pitch stands out while operating in the upper 80s on the mound with the ability to spin a sharp slider off it as well. All-fields approach with excellent zone awareness and consistently delivers loud exits in the box. The Mount Paran high-level talent rolls on with another top 15 name as Riley Shumpert, OF, 2029, Mount Paran holds down a spot on this squad. High-floor tools are littered throughout and chance to continue to grow into the overall profile. Bat-to-ball skills with present barrel feel and glove profiles across the grass. There may not have been a more banner year for anyone in the class than Luke Goudie, SS, 2029, Harris County. Carried an impact role with Harris County at the top of the order and performed at a high-level throughout the spring/summer circuits as he earned a top ten ranking because of it. Physicality litters the frame with an immense feel to hit while showing an aptitude to adjust amongst various different mixes and is extremely tough to beat in-zone. Impact freshman bats including Landry Boling, 3B, 2029, Jefferson and Tate Broom, C, 2029, Sonoraville bring carrying offensive tools and have continued to perform in each setting over the years. Both possess the type of hard-nosed mentality that shows while living for the moment when the lights are brightest. Smith Browning, OF, 2029, Northwest Whitfield was one of the biggest winners at TPG back in June and possesses the type of profile with top 10 upside in the state and then some. Wiry strength in the lean 5-foot-11 frame that consistently yields firm results. Tons of athleticism throughout hit/run tools could be above-average or even plus down the line and looks the part of a top of the order tone-setter.

Gamer traits and competitiveness have always stood out for Brogen Stephens, OF/LHP, 2029, Lowndes. The two-way prospect is coming off a strong summer campaign where bat-to-ball in the box and pitchability on the mound collectively shined. These are the types of profiles that you bet on for the upcoming years as Stephens looks to end his summer on a high note. A pair of rising sophomore’s including Grayson Parker, 3B/1B, 2029, Central and Jack Greene, 3B/2B, 2029, Denmark found themselves carrying key roles in talented lineups throughout last spring. Feel to hit is quickly developing for both with quality defensive makeups to match. They look to be a staple in this ‘29 class going forward with huge sophomore campaigns on the horizon. Former Junior Future Games alum, Robert Wade, RHP, 2029, Whitfield Academy will be an arm to watch on this squad with mid 80s velocity and feel to spin. Another name that we have yet to see in this setting is Chase Webb, RHP/2B, 2029, Etowah. High praise from the Eagles staff has been building for quite some time now and appears poised for a huge role next spring. Webb boasts present pitchability while working in the mid 80s and will look to provide two-way value as well to round out the summer circuit.

Sleeper Breakout

A breakout could be looming for Brody Sapp, MIF, 2029, Brunswick as this is the first showcase type of setting that we will see him in. Sapp stood out in a senior heavy lineup and held his own during a deep playoff run in my look this past spring with innate bat-to-ball skills that will carry long-term. Another name to note that we have yet to see in this setting is Carter Raley, C/1B, 2029, Mount Pisgah who will be an intriguing follow over the event. Armed with present physicality in the box and plenty more to project within the profile.

Team 4

Proven Freshman

One of the more tooled up prospects in the ‘29 class is Caleb Sullivan, OF, 2029, Buford with still plenty more to tap into towards a significant ceiling. Chance for future plus run and power tools, with ability to reach top end speed quickly and create loft with ease backed by huge bat speed. Potent showing back at TPG in June and chance to thrive once again in this setting to finish the summer. It’s not often you find this type of impact that Brayden Couch, OF/RHP, 2029, Cherokee Bluff provided across a stellar freshman campaign. Exudes projection in an advanced LH cut and looks like he is going to hit at a high-level for a very long-time in a mature all-fields approach. Not to mention living mid 80s on the bump with a hammer for a breaking-ball and pitchability to match. Tyler Hickman, C/3B, 2029, Cartersville has made a name for himself over the years in different settings and amongst various staff while playing up multiple age groups. Chance for light-tower power but feel to hit really stands out with ability to use the whole field well. Looks the part behind the plate with effortless catch and throw backed by advanced instincts and athleticism in the crouch.

Multi-Year Follows

Frank Knowles III, OF, 2029, GAC is one of the versatile multi-sport athletes in the class with raw tools to project. Knowles III was able to get his feet wet last spring and will have a chance to hold down a huge role as he could run with it if given the opportunity backed by carrying run and defensive tools. Physicality in the box stands out for Jake Bruns, 1B/RHP, 2029, Cherokee Bluff with tons of strength in the frame and a potent barrel throughout while looking the part amongst staff over the past couple of circuits. Will also hop on the mound as well to close out his summer. The 2025 Junior Future Gamer, Garrett Parsons, MIF, 2029, Archer, carved out a huge role with Archer this past spring. Present athleticism in the frame that translates on the diamond with high-floor tools across the board and seemingly always produces a quality at-bat in the box. Eli Rice, SS, 2029, North Oconee is another former Junior Future Gamer that was able to see some time last spring as a freshman and looks poised to carry a larger role heading into next year. Intangibles stand out with a present feel to hit while supplying a strong glove in the dirt up-the-middle. Bryson Burch, RHP/OF, 2029, Perry, a ‘25 Junior Future Games alum, brings more two-way value to this squad. High-level athlete and is already generating p4 interest for football. Physical LH stick and delivers a heavy barrel while showing an upper 80’s fastball on the mound with pitchability that continues to grow.

Sleeper Breakout

Cooper Chupp, 2B, 2029, Pinecrest Academy has been one of my big winners in the box amongst the past calendar year. Feel to hit is present in an extremely direct stroke with excellent bat-to-ball skills and his game will continue to take strides with added strength. The depth of the Harrison pipeline has been eye-opening to watch and Andrew Larson, 1B/3B, 2029, Harrison further adds to it. A physical RH stick that showed well for myself and other members of staff this summer with plenty more to project. Staff saw Benjamin Taylor, OF/SS, 2029, Oconee County for the first time this summer and he looked the part throughout. Breakout is appealing with high-floor tools and tons of twitch in the frame. Hit/power combo is evident and still growing further while showing an above-average run tool and borderline plus arm strength that will carry defensively. A pair of two-ways consisting of Tex Leonard, SS/RHP, 2029, West Forsyth and Ethan Tinker, 3B/RHP, 2029, Cambridge bring athleticism and budding tools to their squad. The two are coming off a solid summer campaign where they showed well both during gameplay and across the Summer ID circuit.

Team 5

Proven Freshman

Kaiden Harvey, SS, Houston County Not many freshmen get the opportunity that Harvey did this spring down at Houston County. Coach Hopkins has had his fair share of MLB Draft picks and college stars come through his program and Harvey could be next in line. He earned a job starting at 3B next to GT commit and 2026 draft pick, Isaiah Galason. His game is mature beyond his years and exceeds expectations in the line up. With added stench and size Harvey’s game is going to transform and not to mention he is an upper 80’s on the mound too. Fellow South Georgia native Brock Simpson,C, Irwin County is no stranger to making an impact as a freshman either. Simpson is a physical back stop that can really swing it with upside on the mound too. Hatcher Chandler, OF Allatoona is becoming a household name after leading a young Allatoona team this spring. He found his role and stuck with it. He earned first time all region honors and is primed for a breakout sophomore year with present tools throughout his game. 2025 Junior Future Gamer Deuce Green, 3B/RHP, Pace has proved himself across the circuit and during the spring at Pace. He seemingly lives on the barrel with sneaky athleticism and pop at the dish. He is a reliable glove over at 3B and can get on the mound and throw strikes in the low 80’s as well. One of my last games of the spring was at Kennesaw Mountain where I saw Nathan McLaughlin, OF, Kennesaw Mountain barrel on multiple occasions. We got a chance to see him earlier in the year and did more of the same. He will be a key piece for the Mustangs headed into his sophomore year. Finally Andrew Wallace, OF, Calvary Day made an impact down south for the 2025 state champs. We then got a chance to see him in our final summer ID in Savannah. We are really looking forward to seeing him in game this weekend with tools that will easily stand out amongst some of the top 2029’s in the state.

Multi-Year Follows

Kellen Hoffman, 3B, North Paulding comes into the end of the summer with a proven track record to hit, and will see considerable time next year for North Paulding. He has an easy feel for the barrel that strength is going to continue to come in. Connor Brett, MIF, Houston County is yet another hitter in the Houston County pipeline. There is a feel for the barrel from the left side with good actions in the dirt. Gus Cummings, OF, John Milledge is an athletic, strong framed righty that performed well this summer for Game On. He also has easy strength on the mound, running the FB up to 87. Maddox Griffeth, MIF, Creekview rounds out the middle infield for Team 5 and had a really strong finish to the summer.

Sleeper Breakout

George Bassett V, C, Houston County was a standout in the Preseason at the Macon ID and saw time as a freshman for Houston County. He showed some added strength this summer and a really good catch and throw behind the dish. Bassett has a chance to really take off next spring for Coach Hopkins and will be leaned on heavily behind the plate with their starter graduating. The South Georgia talent is plentiful on team 5 and Charlie Crews , 1B, Lowndes and Sam Wasson, OF, Pinewood Christian are 2 talented players that have a chance to really take off this year. Crews is next in line to be one of the next guys at Lowndes. The sky is limit with the swing from the left side with high floor tools that is going to set him up for a big year. We got glimpses of Wasson as an 8th grader when Pinewood made a run at the GIAA championship. The strength and athleticism were the first things to standout and we are eager to see him in this setting tomorrow.

Team 6

Proven Freshman

Parker McLeod, OF, Mount Pisgah is a left/left outfielder that we haven’t seen in a while, but looks to have added some strength that has taken his game to the next level. Clay Phillips, 1B/LHP, Citizen Christian Academy , Dyson Sparks, OF, Etowah . Carson Thieme, SS, Athens Academy have become household names in this class after all 3 showing well at Top Prospect Games. Sparks saw time as a freshman for the state champions, along with Clay Phillips for Citizen Christian where he played pivotal roles in their back to back state champ seasons. He has some untapped strength and potential that is just going to keep getting better with time. 2025 Junior Future Gamer, Carson Thieme has been as steady as they come in this class with 2 way upside and athleticism that stands out. Logan Moss, 3B/RHP, Social Circle was a guy we got to see a lot of towards the last half of the summer and really showed well. We are looking forward to seeing him in this setting since we last saw him in the spring at our Georgia Select weekend to record metrics.

Hammond Bryant, C, North Hall and Emerson Nolder, C, Newnan are 2 up and coming prospects in proven high school programs that will be making an impact sooner rather than later. Nolder was a player we got a chance to see in the Preseason and really showed well. He is coming back off an arm injury, but DH’s to end the summer and put up some big numbers. Bryant showed well at Top Prospect Games with tools behind the dish and a smooth right handed swing at the plate. Malachi Owens, UTL, Maynard Jackson is a versatile athlete that can play anywhere on the field and filled a massive role this past spring where he caught nearly every game for Coach Stegall. Bat-to-ball skills are present as he always stays within himself at the dish and chance to continue to make strides in his game with added strength. Griffin Richards, 1B, Whitewater is an intriguing, strong bodied left handed hitter that we got a chance to see this summer. There is obvious strength in the 6-foot-1 frame and is going to be fun to watch compete this weekend. Colton Smith, OF, Houston County Luke Taylor, OF, Pope Spencer Traugh, SS, Sequoyah and Trystan Rhoades, 2B, Perry will round out team 6 and are 4 guys that proved themselves this summer with hit tools that stand out.

Sleeper Breakout

Carter Smith, 3B/RHP, Harlem and Nolan Porch, OF, North Cobb Christian are 2 arms that really looked the part this summer and will be 2 could have really big sophomore seasons.
