On July 11th, the 2026 MLB Draft took place in Philadelphia, PA. The first four rounds took place on Saturday, with the rest of the rounds (5-20) set to take place on Sunday, July 12th. In the first four rounds, 21 players who played prep baseball in CA were selected, five of whom were selected in the first round.

Jared Grindlinger (R1 LAA) of Huntington Beach High School and Trey Ebel (R1 MIL) of Corona High School were the only two prep players from California selected in the first round. Other notable California prep players selected include Tyler Spangler (Comp. Balance Round A PHI) of De La Salle HS and Logan Schmidt (R2 CLE) of Genesha HS.

Former Future Games (2021) participant Derek Curiel (Orange Lutheran HS, LSU) was selected 5th overall by the Pittsburgh Pirates.
