NEPHI, UT – On Thursday, June 18, 2026, the Prep Baseball Utah staff traveled to "The Hive" for the Central Utah Summer ID. This open-invite event brought together prospects from across the region in the 2027-2030 classes, providing a crucial summer look at a dynamic mix of established underclassmen and emerging talent looking to make their mark on the circuit.
Each participant received a complete Prep Baseball profile update including a headshot, video, verified showcase metrics, and advanced data. With college programs and our scouting staff actively tracking development across the state, the event served as a critical evaluation opportunity at the kickoff of the summer season. Our staff got an up-close look at physical projection, refined skill sets, and players trending toward breakout campaigns. This Quick Hits article highlights the standouts who separated themselves and made a strong statement throughout the day.

Jace Hunter C / 2B / Timpanogos, UT / 2026Jace put together a premium, highly polished performance on the day, reinforcing his standing as one of the top senior backstops in the state. Possessing a sturdy, physical 5'10' 170-pound frame built for the rigors of the position, the Timpanogos product commands the game with excellent leadership traits and a mature defensive presence. Behind the dish, his receiving is quiet, featuring soft hands and clean, quick transfers that consistently were a showcase-best 1.89 - 1.95 pop time. Offensively, Hunter anchors his right-handed stroke around significant rotational strength and advanced barrel awareness, keeping his hands tight to his frame to deliver heavy pull-side carry that registered a loud 100+ max EV. He projects as a true plug-and-play asset at the next level for Coach Haney and the Eagles from behind the plate and in the lineup. Porter was a standout across the athletic testing metrics, showcasing a high-motor, and a massively productive season for the Pine View program. The junior outfielder has quality speed on the basepaths, and a rapid first step when tracking balls down deep in the gaps with a clean 84 velo with consistent backspin. He utilizes a short, direct hand path to execute a heavy, line-drive-oriented approach that peppers the alleys, posting a repeated upper 90s EV and ability to leave the yard with natural loft. He handles his lower half with great discipline, combining high-end hand acceleration with an extension-minded finish that points toward clear gap-to-gap power production as he enters a crucial upperclassman campaign. Raiden finalized a potent one-two punch for the Pine View contingent, displaying intriguing physical projection and a loud collection of raw athletic tools. Sporting a long-limbed, physical 6’3”, 185-pound frame with ample room for added strength, Hunt warrants consideration as a must follow with an exciting athletic foundation. At the plate he is aggressive, with a high-intent approach, leveraging his long levers to create loft and generating consistent contact that featured a number of deep drives to the pull side. Defensively, he moves well in the OF and projects to the corner spots with potential to play center down the road. At SS, he shows fluid movements with steady actions and an accurate arm across the diamond. At the plate, the left-handed hitter showcases a smooth, repeatable swing that stays inside the ball well, allowing him to consistently spray line drives back up the middle and into the opposite-field gap. While his overall power and velocity metrics are still developing, his clean mechanics make him an intriguing follow as he gains strength and matures physically over the next two years. While his overall footwork and arm strength are still in the early stages of development, his physical tools are highly encouraging for a rising freshman.
