Welcome to the IHSA Daily Roundup, where our Prep Baseball Illinois staff will provide readers with scores, game recaps, and highlights from the games that took place the day before. In conjunction with our comprehensive in-game coverage throughout the 2026 season, we’ll publish this Daily Roundup to keep readers informed on the latest happenings across the state.

We obtain most of our scores by following teams on GameChanger, as well as through MaxPreps and Twitter. Coaches are also able to submit their own team’s box scores to us via email at [email protected], or through our IHSA Submitted Scores form, which they’re able to request by emailing our staff or by sending a us a DM over Twitter. Danny Donovan (2026; Wisconsin-Parkside) went 2-for-2 with a triple, double, four RBI and two runs scored, Orlando Vazquez (2026) went 2-for-2 with two RBI and two runs scored, and Ryan Lotus (2027) added two hits, one being a double, with two RBI. Evan Panther (2027) also had a strong day at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run scored. On the mound, John Strzechowski (2026; Lake Land JC) threw two perfect innings on the mound and struck out four.

Jack Kirgan (2026) delivered the game-winning hit in the bottom of the 10th - an RBI single scoring Hunter Baugh (2026; Lindenwood) who doubled to begin the inning. Miller Dunnill (2027) got the ball to start and turned in five and two-thirds scoreless, punching out nine and allowing just two hits and a walk. Tony Eberlin (2026; TCU) was dominant out of the 'pen for the Tigers, tossing four and a third of hitless baseball, surrendering just one walk with nine strikeouts.

Led by strong pitching, Marquette took down Pontiac 3-1. Alec Novotney (2026; Valparaiso commit) followed suit as he threw two innings, striking out five of the six batters he faced. Marquette’s Beau Thompson (2026) led the Crusader offense with two runs batted in on a bases-loaded single up the middle.
