Welcome to the WIAA Daily Roundup, where our Prep Baseball Wisconsin staff will provide readers with scores, game recaps, and highlights from the games that took place the day before. In conjunction with our comprehensive in-game coverage throughout the 2026 season, we’ll publish this Daily Roundup to keep readers informed on the latest happenings across the state.

The De Pere Redbirds leaned on early offense and steady late-game relief pitching to hold off a fierce comeback and secure a nail-biting 6-5 victory over Kimberly on Saturday. De Pere struck first in the top of the opening frame when Will Nikolay laced a triple to put them on the board. They extended their advantage to 2-0 in the second inning behind an RBI double down the left-field line by Rory Obma. After Kimberly cut the deficit to 2-1 in the fourth, De Pere seemingly seized command with a decisive four-run surge in the top of the fifth. However, Kimberly answered immediately in the bottom half of the frame with a massive four-run explosion of their own, highlighted by a towering grand slam to left field from Maddux Hermus, but the Redbirds slammed the door the rest of the way to seal the win. Kasen Gregoire earned the win with a gritty start on the mound, surrendering five runs on seven hits while racking up five strikeouts and navigating two walks over four and two-thirds innings of work. Ryland Nowak provided critical lockdown relief, tossing one and two-thirds perfect, hitless innings with a strikeout to collect the save, following two-thirds of a scoreless frame from Jake Mleziva. Will Nikolay was a massive force at the plate, spearheading the eight-hit attack with a 2-for-4 performance that included a triple and a team-high 2 RBI, a mark matched by Ryan Martin. Chippewa Falls overcame an early deficit with a massive offensive explosion to rout Wausau West 14-3 in the opening game of Saturday's twin bill. Trailing 3-0 after two innings, Chippewa Falls roared to life with four runs in the third before breaking the game wide open with a decisive seven-run outburst in the fourth. Gavin Thompson anchored the onslaught, driving in five runs on a 3-for-5 performance that featured a two-run double in the third and a two-run single in the fourth.
Right-handed starter Collin Balsiger claimed the victory, giving up three runs on six hits with three walks and four Ks over 4.1 innings. Carter Berg excelled in relief, preserving the blowout with 1.2 hitless frames while striking out three. Wausau West starter Marshal Helke suffered the loss, allowing eight runs on six hits in 3.1 innings of work. Alongside Thompson's big day, Dane Krista went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI for Chippewa Falls, while Joe Graveen and Marshal Helke each collected an RBI double to pace Wausau West.
Chippewa Falls completed the Saturday sweep by pulling off a gritty, late-inning comeback to edge Tomah 4-3 in the nightcap. Tomah seized a 3-2 advantage in the bottom of the fifth inning courtesy of sacrifice flies from Carson Clay and Teag Stephenson, but Brandt Olson answered for Chippewa Falls in the top of the sixth with a game-tying RBI single to center. The deciding run crossed the plate in the top of the seventh when Thompson hit into a fielder's choice to push across the go-ahead run. Left-handed starter Evan Weiler earned the win, turning in a strong 6.0-inning performance where he surrendered six hits and three runs while striking out seven. Berg returned to the mound to shut the door in the seventh, issuing one walk across a hitless frame to lock down the save. Tomah reliever Nate Hendricks took the loss, allowing two runs on three hits over 2.0 innings following a solid five-inning start from Breckin Sheldon. Chippewa Falls relied on a balanced lineup with seven different players collecting a hit, while leadoff man Owen Laudon spearheaded Tomah by going 2-for-4 at the plate.

Verona unleashed a relentless offensive assault to dismantle Janesville Craig 11-1 in a six-inning contest on Saturday. After Janesville Parker built an early 3-0 advantage, Sun Prairie East battled back to tie the game in the fifth and briefly seized a 4-3 lead in the top of the sixth on an RBI single by Cam Glusick. Carter Salas quickly answered with an RBI single in the bottom half of the frame to pull Janesville Parker level at 4-4, setting the stage for Reed's final-inning heroics.
Colton Smalley earned the victory with 2.0 scoreless frames of two-hit relief, closing things out after a solid 4.0-inning start from Aidyn Doerner, who allowed one hit and two runs while striking out one. Sun Prairie East reliever Brayden Johnson took the loss, surrendering two runs on three hits with three walks over 2.2 innings following a 4.0-inning opening performance from Brady Seim. Salas led the winning offense by going 2-for-4 with an RBI, while Joey Tamboli propelled Sun Prairie East at the plate by driving in a pair of runs.

D.C. Everest capitalized on a rapid first-inning surge to down Neenah 4-1 in Saturday's other matchup. The Evergreens wasted no time setting the tone in the bottom of the first, striking for three early runs after Aiden Haupt drew a bases-loaded walk and Maddox Wyro followed closely with a two-run single. Griffin Knight suffered the loss for Cedar Grove-Belgium, surrendering eight runs on eight hits across 4.0 frames. Levi Whitfield paced Kewaskum's 12-hit attack by going 3-for-4 with four RBI, capped by a towering three-run home run to center field, while Ira Hilbelink provided the biggest spark for the opposition with a two-run blast in the third.

New Berlin Eisenhower rallied in the final inning to pull off a dramatic 6-5 walk-off victory over Notre Dame Academy on Saturday. Trailing 5-4 entering the bottom of the seventh, New Berlin Eisenhower capitalized on late-game traffic, drawing a pair of walks off reliever Tripp Wroblewski before executing the game-winning plays to seal the comeback.
Brendan Teece started on the hill for New Berlin Eisenhower, allowing zero hits and two runs with four walks over 1.1 innings. Cade Schick provided crucial stability in relief, throwing 3.2 innings and allowing three hits and three runs, while Cole Biscobing secured the victory by striking out three across 2.0 perfect frames. Notre Dame Academy starter Austin Connaher gave up four runs on five hits through 3.1 innings before Wroblewski absorbed the loss.
