Alemany vs. Sierra Canyon
Steven Hardesty, Assistant Director
2026 3B/SS Cody Gallegos, Sierra Canyon
My track record with Gallegos goes back to his Fr season when he started on varsity at SS at a Channel League school before transferring into Sierra Canyon as a Soph. where he quickly earned consistent playing time after the transfer sitout. The wiry athletic RHH has developed steadily over those four years of high school baseball from a bouncy athletic glove first profile with some upside in the offensive profile into what is now a well-rounded profile across the board. He has added twitchy strength to a frame that is still more lean than strong, but has the quickness in how he moves and in the forearms to possess real pull side impact at the plate now, while showing the polish to his rhythm, approach, and swing decisions to stick near the top of the lineup at the next level. While he has shifted to 3B in his Sr. campaign, the way he moves on the INF dirt resembles more of a long-term up the middle profile with an arm that could still comfortably play SS at the next level. Uncommitted at this point in his Sr. season, the talented Gallegos is going to be either a tremendous late grab for a four-year college that values his present ability and the continued upside he has to keep improving, or be a fantastic JUCO pickup where that development can continue to take place before opening increased four-year college opportunities in the future.
