Tuscaloosa Rising Stars ID: Pitcher Reports

TUSCALOOSA, AL - The 2026 Summer ID Tour made its penultimate stop on Tuesday, July 7th as Prep Baseball Alabama traveled to Northridge High School in Tuscaloosa, AL for the Tuscaloosa Summer ID and Tuscaloosa Rising Stars ID. The event featured prospects from the 2027-2032 graduating classes who participated in a full day of evaluations and data collection in front of the Prep Baseball Alabama staff.
Attendees participated in a pro-style workout that included laser-timed 60-yard dashes using VALD Performance gates, batting practice with TrackMan technology, and defensive evaluations with arm strength metrics recorded at each position. The event served as an early summer opportunity for players to update their profiles, collect verified data, and showcase their tools heading into a busy summer schedule. In addition to collecting valuable data, players were also evaluated for some of Prep Baseball's premier national events, including the Senior Future Games (2027s), Future Games (2028s), Southeast Super Sophomore Games (2029s), and Junior Future Games (2030-2031s).
Below, we take an individualized look at all of the pitchers from the Rising Stars ID portion of the event.
Gray Atchison, American Christian Academy (AL), 2030 |
Positional Profile: 1B/RHP
Body: 5-11, 170-pounds. Proportional frame, room for added size/strength.
Delivery: Mid leg lift with good direction and tempo down the mound.
Arm Action: RH. Longer arm action with low 3/4 slot.
FB: T78, 76-78 mph. Good ASR with some sink. T2092, 2047 average rpm.
CB: 60-61 mph. 11/5 shape with some bite. Sweeperish. T1619, 1541 average rpm.
CH: 67-70 mph. Good ASR with low spin. Plays well off FB. T1236, 1016 average rpm.
Evan Barnette, Holy Spirit Catholic School (AL), 2030 |
Positional Profile: SS/RHP
Body: 5-6, 130-pounds. Leaner frame, more room for added size.
Delivery: Smooth tempo down the mound, controlled.
Arm Action: RH. High 3/4 slot with quick action.
FB: T71, 69-71 mph. Flatter movement with good accuracy. Good feel for pitch. T2007, 1900 average rpm.
CB: 62-63 mph. 12-6 shape with solid bite and good accuracy. T2386, 2317 average rpm.
Sloan Browning, Westbrook Christian (AL), 2030 |
Positional Profile: LHP/OF
Body: 5-8, 140-pounds. Smaller build with some present strength.
Delivery: Slow and controlled tempo down the mound.
Arm Action: LH. Smooth, athletic arm motion. Mid 3/4 slot.
FB: T79, 77-79 mph. Good ride on FB, plays above velo. T2096, 2009 average rpm.
CB: 63-65 mph. 11/5 shape with good accuracy. T2115, 1907 average rpm.
SL: 65-66 mph. Best pitch, major sweep shape with great break. T2180, 2123 average rpm.
CH: 71-71 mph. Plays well off FB, good depth. T1920, 1920 average rpm.
Charlie Hamric, Hoover (AL), 2030 |
Positional Profile: RHP/3B
Body: 5-10, 190-pounds. Stronger frame, bigger build.
Delivery: High leg kick with good temp down the mound, rotates well.
Arm Action: RH. Mid 3/4 slot with longer arm action.
FB: T73, 72-73 mph. Good accuracy with good ride and feel for pitch. T1939, 1675 average rpm.
CB: 58-60 mph. More 11/5 shape with good bite. Good accuracy and feel. T1921, 1860 average rpm.
SL: 61-63 mph. More sweeper shape with good feel and accuracy. T2075, 1989 average rpm.
CH: 66-66 mph. Good fade and late life with CH. Good accuracy. T1176, 1176 average rpm.
Mason Monk, Northridge (AL), 2031 |
Positional Profile: OF/RHP
Body: 5-3, 102-pounds. Lean and athletic frame, can continue to fill out.
Delivery: Mid leg lift with funky motion down the mound.
Arm Action: RH. Mid 3/4 slot with longer arm action.
FB: T63, 60-63 mph. Good sink on pitch, good accuracy. T1673, 1534 average rpm.
CB: 54-58 mph. More 12/6 shape with some break. T1563, 1491 average rpm.
SL: 53-53 mph. Similar to CB a little more sweep. Good accuracy. T1579, 1556 average rpm.
CH: 58-58 mph. Decent depth on CH, plays well off FB. T1364, 1364 average rpm.
Jamal Saunders jr, Fultondale High School (AL), 2031 |
Positional Profile: SS/3B
Body: 5-9, 180-pounds. Fairly physical build, projectable.
Delivery: Mid leg lift with good direction down the mound. Athletic.
Arm Action: RH. Athletic arm motion, mid 3/4 slot.
FB: T74, 70-73 mph. Smooth action and good accuracy. Some ASR and sink. T1836, 1720 average rpm.
SL: 60-60 mph. Some 11/5 shape with good bite. T2136, 2094 average rpm.
CH: 67-67 mph. Good ASR and fade, good accuracy. T1435, 1435 average rpm.
