On Wednesday, July 1st, the PB Texas staff traveled to McLennan Community College in Waco, TX, to host the Top Prospect Games: Waco, an invite-only event for all high school classes.

More than 35 players made their way to McLennan CC and participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball Texas staff.

We have already released a Statistical Analysis from the event, highlighting the top statistical performers. Today, we will provide our scouting takeaways on some of the prospects who stood out throughout the event.

Solid build with room to add increased strength. Ran a 6.88 60 and showed the ability to play all three outfield spots. Aggressive getting to the baseball with quality defensive actions. Impressed in the workout, producing hard contact off the barrel with the ability to impact the baseball. On the mound, touched 89 while working 87-88 with developing feel for secondary offerings.

Physical corner infielder with strength present and room to continue developing. Consistently impacts the baseball with hard line-drive contact. Hands work defensively with actions present on the corner. Moves well for his size and projects to hit for power.

Liam Bell | OF | Bowie | 2028 | R/R | 5’10” 175
Projects well physically with room to add strength. Ran a 6.91 60 and projects as a plus runner. Shows the ability to play all three outfield spots. Produced hard contact off the barrel with present pull-side power. Tools continue to develop.

Max Deem | INF | Liberty Christian | 2028 | R/R | 5’11” 205
Solid build with room to add strength. Ran a 7.08 60 with the run tool expected to improve. Feet work well on the infield with actions continuing to develop. Consistently barrels the baseball with line-drive contact and shows the ability to impact the ball.

Anderson Gerault | INF | Westlake | 2028 | S/R | 5’10” 150
Projects well physically with plenty of room to add strength. Plus runner with a 6.83 60. Shows actions on the infield with athleticism present. Contact-oriented approach with the ability to handle the bat from both sides of the plate. Impact will continue to develop as strength improves.

Weston Goetz | OF | Collinsville | 2028 | L/L | 5’9” 178
Plus runner with a 6.88 60 and speed should continue to improve. Solid defender in the outfield with the ability to play all three spots. Shows a contact approach offensively with impact developing as strength continues to firm.

Baker Jackson | OF | Round Rock | 2027 | R/R | 5’11” 156
Ran a 6.90 60 with speed that should continue to improve, projecting as a plus runner. Solid defender in the outfield with the ability to handle all three spots. Middle-of-the-field approach offensively, with impact expected to increase as strength is added.

Joseph Kadane | OF | Coppell | 2028 | R/R | 6’0” 185
Ran a 6.90 60 with the potential to become a plus runner. Projects as a steady outfielder, likely fitting best in a corner spot while having the ability to handle CF when needed. Aggressive hitter with a pull-side approach and hard contact off the barrel.

Plus runner with a 6.72 60. Defensive actions continue to develop, with the ability to become a steady defender with infield versatility. Some length to the swing, but showed line-drive contact and flashes the ability to impact the baseball.

Great build/frame with plenty of room to add strength. Ran a 6.91 60 and projects as a plus runner. Steady defender who moves well to the baseball and shows range. Pull-side approach offensively with hard contact. Will continue to develop.

Preston Pearce | INF | Smithson Valley | 2029 | R/R | 5’11” 180
Will continue to add strength. Ran a 6.96 60 with speed expected to improve. Developing actions on the infield. Shows line-drive contact with the ability to consistently barrel the baseball. Impact should increase with added physical strength.

Hays Ramsey | 1B | Salado | 2027 | R/R | 6’3” 185
Great build/frame to add strength. Pull-side approach offensively with present power and hard contact. Profiles best at first base defensively. Moves well for size, running a 6.94 60.

Jackson Ritz | CF/2B | Clifton | 2027 | R/R | 5’7” 163
Well above-average runner with a 6.54 60. Has the range to stay in center field. Showed line-drive contact during BP with a hit-over-power profile. Speed will allow him to get to gaps and create extra bases.

Plus runner with a 6.70 60. Feet work on the infield with actions continuing to develop. Showed pull-side power with hard contact off the barrel. Player with tools who will continue to develop.

Solid build with room to add strength. Plus runner with a 6.75 60. Moves well to the baseball with range present in the outfield. Shows a quality hit approach with hard contact off the barrel. Will continue to develop.

Mason Wood | CF | Celina | 2027 | R/R | 5’9” 162
Athletic player with room to add strength. Plus runner with a 6.78 60 and has the ability to stay in center field with present range. Showed pull-side raw power with a developing hit approach. Athletic defender with hard contact ability.

Easton Hernandez | C | Pieper | 2029 | R/R | 6’0” 185
Build/frame to continue adding strength. Received well during game play. Posted 1.88-1.99 pop times during workouts with a 2.12 in-game throw. Produced consistent hard contact with pull-side power. Player to watch develop.

Cason Martinez | Corner INF | Troy | 2027 | R/R | 6’0” 205
Physical frame with more strength to come. Developing defensive actions with the ability to move well at a corner spot. Consistently finds the barrel with hard contact. Bat/power combination fits well at the corner profile.

Zach Barnes | RHP/1B | Rockwall | 2028 | R/R | 6’2” 205
Fastball reached 89 while pitching 86-88. Flashed feel for the slider and worked around the zone with stuff that shows pitchability. Corner infielder with actions present and the ability to impact the baseball offensively. Two-way player to watch develop on the mound and at the plate.
