LATHROP, CALIF. - This past Tuesday, June 30th, the Prep Baseball California team hosted the Bay Area Summer ID at the Islanders in Lathrop, Cal.

Just over 40 players made their way to the Islanders Field and participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball California staff.

To start the day, all position players in attendance ran a 60-yard sprint with all split times being gathered using VALD Technologies' laser timing system. Next up was a pair of jump tests using the VALD system again, where players participated in a max vertical jump to test their power production and a 5-Hop RSI test to measure force production. Upon completion of the athletic testing portion of the day, the players went into offensive evaluations with multiple rounds of batting practice, where Trackman Technologies was in use to gather batted ball data on players in attendance. Which was then followed by defensive evaluations at their primary and secondary position (OF, C, SS, 1B) with arm strength being measured via a Stalker Radar gun and skill evaluations by our staff on hand. Once the batting practice portion of the event was completed, we shifted into the pitching portion of the day with pitchers throwing bullpens from the main mound with Trackman Technologies running to gather pitch data.

Today, we will be looking at some of the top overall performers from the event, found below. For all of the event information, please click here.

TOP PERFORMERS:

Jack Addison SS / 2B / Placer High, CA / 2027

Addison previously came out to our Sacramento Pre Season ID in January, after completing his junior year at Placer High School, he really made a name for himself, as well as improved all of his numbers from last event. The most noticeable change was his 60 yd dash time, which is now at a whopping 6.65. For Addison to improve his time by that much, while doing it during the actual season was very impressive to watch. He solidified himself as one of Placer’s most consistent players this season. Defensively, Addison profiles as more of a 2B, but can cause havoc on the bases and make the defense sped up. He's got quick actions, but it's the arm that will be the biggest factor if he can stick on the left side. Addison plays with a lot of fire and you can tell when he steps on the field. Addison is heading into his senior year and will continue to get better as his career goes on.

Highlights:

60 YD Dash: 6.65 | Max EV: 94.4 mph | INF Velo: 78 mph | Vertical Jump: 27.4 in

Gabriel Coca OF / RHP / Monte Vista High, CA / 2027

Coca arguably had one of the best showings of the day, he’s another player that we’ve heard tons about over the season, and finally got to get an in person look at him. Coca possessed some above average speed, with a 6.95 60 yd dash, making him one of the top times of the event. He stands at 6 '1 178.1 lbs, with a wiry frame, moved around well in the outfield, and ended the event with the highest velo of 92 mph. During the hitting portion of the workout, Coca delivered to all fields, hitting the ball hard a solid 83.8% of the time. He’s also headed into his senior year at Monte Vista High School and is a guy who can make an impact on any roster.

Highlights:

60 YD Dash: 6.95 | Max EV: 104.9 | OF Velo: 92 mph | Max Distance: 400 ft | Vertical Jump: 28.8 in

Nicholas Cressio 3B / SS / De La Salle, CA / 2027

Cressio attends De La Salle High School, out of the Bay Area, he turned a lot of heads when he was done with his day. He started off his day running a 6.86 60 yd dash, with a top run speed of 20.2 mph. His speed translated on the infield where he stood out as one of the top infielders on the day. The more impressive part was the strength of his arm combined with his athleticism, so that 89 mph infield velo was at gamelike speed and not a crow hop. Cressio has a shot to stay on the left side of the infield or eventually make his way to the outfield if needed. Offensively, Cressio is more of a middle of the field guy, spray the line drives and will run into one, but he’s a guy that will work ABs.

Highlights:

60 YD Dash: 6.86 | Max EV: 95 mph | INF Velo: 89 mph | Vertical Jump: 22.4 in

PJ Linck OF / 1B / De La Salle, CA / 2027

Linck also attends De La Salle High School, and just from walking in, he was one of the more physical kids that walked into the event, Linck in shorter terms is a walking toolshed. He’s got a cannon for an arm in the outfielder (90 mph velo), he ran one of the fastest 60’s times of the year at a 6.48, and was hitting most of his balls north of 100 mph during BP.  Linck is one of those sleeper guys that will get his shot when the time comes, it’s a matter of time before he puts it all together. Don’t be surprised if you hear about Linck having a crazy season next year for De La Salle, the tools are insane.

Highlights:

60 YD Dash: 6.48 | Max EV: 101.3 mph | OF Velo: 90 mph | Max Distance: 395 ft | Vertical Jump: 24.1 in | RH Grip: 191.7 LH Grip: 178.1

Kaden Paris OF / OF / Freedom High, CA / 2027

The last time Paris attended an event was back in the Fall of ‘24 at a Backyard Boyz Scout Day. The progression has been noticeable with his game, he has refined his game and his body has got a lot more mature since we’ve last seen him. Paris stands at 6 '0 165.4 lbs and ran a 6.92 60 yd dash compared to his time of 7.30 a couple years ago. Paris found a lot of barrels during the offensive part of the workout, he had a max distance of 321 ft and had an average exit velocity of 90.5 mph, he was spraying the field the whole day. Defensively, the arm still has some work to do, especially if he wants to try and play center, but he’s got the mindset and tools to stay out there.

Highlights:

60 YD Dash: 6.92 | Max EV: 94.2 mph | OF Velo: 81 mph | Vertical Jump: 28.1 in
