2026 Prep Baseball Oklahoma Player of the Year: Hunter Watson

Bret Schwartz
Oklahoma Scouting Director

With the 2026 Oklahoma high school baseball season officially in the books, it’s time to announce our 2026 Prep Baseball Oklahoma Player of the Year. The award goes to RHP/1B Hunter Watson (Tuttle HS; Oklahoma) following a monster senior season leading the Tigers to a State Championship.

The Oklahoma signee impacted games as the Tuttle ace on the mound but also producing runs out of the heart of the order. A legitimate 2-way threat, Watson was the frontman of a talented Tiger rotation and was nearly untouchable throughout the year. Finishing his senior campaign with a 6-0 record, .23 ERA, and 55K/6BB that included a Complete Game Shutout with 10 Ks and only 3 hits over a gritty Lone Grove team in the State Quarterfinal. Offensively, Watson's competitiveness was evident from start to finish as he put up video game numbers. Finishing the year with a .505 average, that was just the beginning as he logged 48 total hits and half of those being XBHs. Further, he added 15 SBs on the year. At the State Tournament, he would homer in each of the three games in leading Tuttle to a dogpile and 11-4 Championship victory.

In a season in which this award could have gone to a handful of worthy players coming off big seasons, Watson's consistency in all phases of his game, massive production both on the mound and from the middle of the lineup, and championship-worthy finish to the season gave Watson the edge.

Congratulations to Hunter Watson on winning our 2026 Prep Baseball Oklahoma Player of the Year Award!
