NORTHPORT, AL - The PBT Alabama Summer Championships took center stage at River Run Park in Northport, Alabama, from July 16-19, bringing together several teams from across the region for a competitive weekend of summer baseball. Featuring 15U-17U/18U divisions, the event provided players with an opportunity to compete against quality opponents while continuing to build momentum heading into the heart of the summer schedule.
Over four days of action, teams battled through pool play and bracket competition, showcasing a talented collection of prospects from across Alabama and neighboring states. With Prep Baseball staff on hand throughout the event, the tournament served as an important evaluation opportunity while also highlighting many of the players who are poised for strong summers on the travel circuit. As always, River Run Park provided a tremendous setting for high-level competition, with numerous standout performances emerging throughout the weekend.

+ RHP/OF Ty Morris (2027) Ty Morris turned in an impressive outing on the mound, allowing just three hits and two runs over 5.2 innings while striking out nine and walking only two. The right-hander showed advanced pitchability, consistently commanding the strike zone and keeping hitters off balance throughout his start. Morris worked at 82-85 mph with the fastball and has reportedly been up to 88 mph this summer. His 73-75 mph curveball proved to be his go-to secondary offering, generating plenty of swings and misses while landing it for strikes in key counts. He also flashed a 78 mph changeup, though it was used sparingly. Offensively, Morris possesses a strong, physical right-handed bat with present power potential, giving him intriguing two-way value. His command, feel for pitching, and overall mound presence were the biggest takeaways from his performance, making him a quality follow in in the 2027 class.
+ C Wyatt McDaniels (2027) was one of the premier offensive performers of the weekend, playing a major role in Easley Baseball capturing the championship. The Pearl River CC signee showcased his impact bat by driving the baseball with authority to all fields, launching multiple home runs while consistently producing loud contact throughout the event. A physical, power-hitting catcher, McDaniels repeatedly found the barrel and proved to be a difficult out, stringing together quality at-bats and applying pressure on opposing pitchers from start to finish. His combination of present strength, mature offensive approach, and ability to change the game with one swing made him one of the most dangerous hitters in attendance.
+ 1B/RHP Trent Buckley was another major catalyst in Easley Baseball's championship run at the Alabama Summer Championships, anchoring the middle of the lineup with his imposing presence and middle-of-the-order power. The Ole Miss recruit consistently produced loud barrels throughout the weekend, showing the ability to drive the baseball with authority to all fields while providing run-producing at-bats in key situations. Standing at a physical 6-foot-5, 218 pounds, Buckley possesses a prototype power frame with significant strength and leverage at the plate. In addition to his offensive impact, he also offers intriguing two-way value as a power right-handed arm, making him one of the more complete prospects in attendance.
+ MIF Sage Bennett (2027) quickly became one of the more intriguing players to watch over the weekend with the way he impacted the game on both sides of the ball. At the plate, Bennett consistently put together quality at-bats, swinging the bat with confidence while applying pressure on opposing defenses with his aggressive baserunning and above-average speed. Defensively, he was especially impressive at shortstop, showcasing smooth, crafty footwork, athletic actions, and the ability to make plays from multiple angles. His arm strength and overall defensive instincts stood out throughout the event, making him a reliable presence up the middle. Bennett's combination of athleticism, defensive polish, and offensive upside makes him a player worth following moving forward.
+ OF/1B Parker McLeod (2029) was one of the hottest hitters on Sunday, showcasing a smooth left-handed swing and consistently finding the barrel. The Mount Pisgah Christian standout went 2-for-3 with a home run and a double in Game 1 before following it up with another loud extra-base hit off the right-field wall in Game 2. He also delivered a productive at-bat later in the game, driving in a run with an unselfish approach. Through four games, McLeod totaled four extra-base hits while displaying the ability to impact the baseball with authority. The athletic outfielder possesses a highly projectable frame, quality bat speed, and an advanced offensive approach that should continue to translate as he develops.
+ INF Noah Isensee emerged as one of the more impressive young prospects at the event, showcasing the traits of a true five-tool player despite being only a rising freshman. The 2030 shortstop put together a productive weekend, collecting multiple extra-base hits while consistently impacting the game on both sides of the ball. Defensively, Isensee displayed smooth actions, athletic footwork, and the instincts to handle the shortstop position at a high level. His athleticism, projectable frame, and overall skill set leave plenty of room for future development, making his ceiling especially intriguing. Already proving he can compete against quality competition, Isensee looks like a strong early candidate to watch for future Junior Future Games consideration.
+ Max Dove was one of the more productive players in his division, making an impact both at the plate and in center field. Hitting in the two-hole, the 2029 outfielder consistently produced quality at-bats while showcasing a fast, powerful swing. Still filling out his projectable frame, Dove has plenty of upside and is a young prospect to keep an eye on moving forward.
