15u National Championship: Scout Blog
June 24, 2026
EMERSON, GA: The summer is is in full swing and the 15u National Championship delivered some of the top underclass talent of the summer. Check out a loaded scout blog with over 50 players that made a strong impression amongst our staff with Future Games on the horizon for this class.
Maddox Bryant, SS, 2029, Kingwood (TX)
The 6-foot, 168-pound SS put together a statement week at the 15U National Championship. Bryant consistently produced hard, loud contact from the left side of the plate. He displayed a sense of confidence in the box throughout the week and put up some impressive numbers. On Tuesday, Bryant had a statement day where he showcased his power by hitting a massive 3-run pull side homer that was hit 97 off the bat and traveled 350 feet. He showed a quick bat through the zone with elite feel for the barrel with the ball jumping off his bat. Bryant also showed excellent plate discipline working many deep counts and taking his walk when he didn’t get a good pitch to hit, racking up 4 walks on the day. He will continue to be a name climbing up the rankings in the next few years.
Caston Bulheller, RHP, 2029, Atlee (VA)
The 6-foot-2, 185-pound right hander got off to a great start during Thursday of the 15U National Championship. Bulheller spun a gem tossing 4 innings of no-hit baseball leading his team to the opening game victory. He displayed a two pitch mix with the FB sitting 80-82 T85 with some arm side run. His secondary pitch was a sweeping CB sitting at 73-74. The FB served as Bulheller’s primary source of attack working both sides of the plate to both RHH and LHH. The breaking ball was used in advantage counts generating a lot of chase. Bulheller will be a name to keep up with in the next few years as his development continues.
Cole McMurry, RHP, 2029, South Effingham
After running into some trouble with long ABs in the first inning on his start Saturday, McMurry settled in and delivered a quality performance. McMurry comes in with a cross-fire delivery, very similarly to Michael King. He toes the rubber on the first base side, but lands all the way on the third base side, making for a tough AB for RHH. He opened up sitting 86-88 and later settled more into the 84-86 range showing quality ASR from that tough low ¾ slot. Mostly relying on the fastball, McMurry would flip in a slider early in counts in the 70-73 range. He also flashed a changeup to LHH around 73-75. McMurry will be an intriguing arm to follow, as he’s unique and is already flashing velocity.
JR Pearse, OF, 2029, Wheeler
Pearse is a twitchy mover who sat at the top of The Dream lineup. Throughout the game, you could see hitterish tendencies at the plate, but he wasn’t quite able to break through. In the 7th inning, with bases loaded and the game on the line, Pearse squared up a ball and drove it into the LCF gap for a bases clearing triple. The ball came off the bat at 94 EV, and he did this without a leg lift at all, instead reverting to a simple lift up, put down lower half. He was on the mound at the time, closing the game out over the last few innings, and went out in the bottom of the 7th and shut it down for the win. Pearse should be a close follow for the rest of the summer and looking forward to Wheeler’s spring season.
Michael Rylee, RHP/OF, 2029, Jefferson
Rylee started the 15u National Championship off right on the mound and in the box for Ambush Baseball Scout’s first pool play game. In the box Rylee started his day off with a rocket up the middle to CF at 94.7 EV for a 1B. He has a strong lower half with quick rotation through the zone that generates plus power in the box. On the mound for Rylee he had a great outing as well. He maintained a three pitch mix throughout the day, that he could control the whole outing. He threw a firm FB that sat 81-84 with topping out at 85, that had a quality ASR out of the over-the-top delivery. His next pitch was a tight spinning SL, which sat 73-76, which he could front and back door all game. His SL was tunneled off the FB all day which led to tons of swing-and-misses. His final pitch of the three was a CH that had really good tumble and sat around 74-76. Throughout Rylee’s whole outing he kept hitters off balance in the box and showed a really good feel for each pitch. Rylee is looking to finish out this summer season strong and make a big impact for Jefferson this upcoming high school season.
