Florida 2028 Rankings: Post-Spring Update

As the summer circuit gets underway, the Class of 2028 steps into the conversation. After a spring filled with early evaluations, live looks, and development tracking at the sophomore level, it's time to release the Florida 2028 Player Rankings. The class is young and still taking shape, but the talent is there, and the names worth knowing are starting to rise to the surface.

Risers
Poplin made a big jump this spring, showing long-term starter traits and the ability to hold velo throughout outings. His biggest moment came in the State Championship game, where he came into a tough spot and held Stoneman Douglas to one run while running the fastball up to 95 multiple times. He possesses a hard-biting slider and a downer curveball. His control of the zone improved as the right-hander should receive plenty of attention this summer.

C Jonathan Marzullo, IMG Academy
Marzullo is as good as it gets for a sophomore catcher, as he showed this spring. Some of the best catch/throw ability in the country with a high IQ and soft hands behind the plate. A physical right-handed hitter showed plenty of power flashes this spring, hitting .483 with 17 extra-base hits.

3B/1B Weston Barrett, Mount Dora Christian Academy
Barrett is another player coming off a big sophomore spring. He hit .414 with 7 home runs, 19 extra-base hits, and 30 RBI. A true switch-hitter with natural ability from both sides. Strong 6’2’ 210 lb. corner infield bat to follow this summer.
