2026 Summer ID: Gardner-Webb - Leaderboards, Notes & Analysis
The 2026 Summer ID: Gardner-Webb continued Prep Baseball North Carolina's summer showcase series as players from the 2027-2031 grad classes gathered on Tuesday, July 7th at Gardner-Webb University for a comprehensive pro-style evaluation. The event provided players with an opportunity to update their Prep Baseball profiles while positioning themselves for future state, regional, and national events through verified statistics, advanced analytics, video, and in-person scouting evaluations.
The day opened with laser-timed 60-yard dashes, collecting both full 60-yard dash times and split data to evaluate speed and athleticism. Players then moved into offensive evaluations where multiple rounds of batting practice were tracked using TrackMan technology, providing detailed batted ball metrics and performance data. BLAST Motion also captured swing analytics throughout batting practice, offering additional insight into each hitter's swing efficiency and bat speed.
Following the offensive workout, players completed defensive evaluations from their primary positions. Prep Baseball's scouting staff evaluated athletic actions, footwork, hands, exchanges, arm strength, and overall defensive ability while gathering updated video and notes on each player.
The event concluded with controlled bullpen sessions as pitchers threw in front of TrackMan technology, generating advanced pitch metrics, movement profiles, velocity readings, and arsenal data that will be incorporated into each player's Prep Baseball profile.
The Summer ID series remains an important part of the Prep Baseball evaluation process, allowing players to showcase their development while helping identify prospects for future state teams and marquee events across the Prep Baseball network. Each participant will receive updated statistics, advanced metrics, video, and scouting reports that can be utilized by college coaches and professional scouts as they continue to follow player development.
Over the coming days, Prep Baseball NC will release statistical leaderboards, scouting notes, and player reports highlighting the top performers from the Gardner-Webb Summer ID.
