MILLVILLE, UT – On Monday, June 15, 2026, the Prep Baseball Utah staff traveled to Ridgeline HS for the Northern Utah Summer ID. This open-invite event brought together prospects from across the region in the 2027-2030 classes, providing a crucial summer look at a dynamic mix of established underclassmen and emerging talent looking to make their mark on the circuit.
Each participant received a complete Prep Baseball profile update including a headshot, video, verified showcase metrics, and advanced data. With college programs and our scouting staff actively tracking development across the state, the event served as a critical evaluation opportunity at the kickoff of the summer season. Our staff got an up-close look at physical projection, refined skill sets, and players trending toward breakout campaigns. This Quick Hits article highlights the standouts who separated themselves and made a strong statement throughout the day.

Rylee continues to perform well, showcasing an imposing 6’1 228 lb frame with present strength throughout. The Logan product has clearly put in high-level work in the gym, and it translated directly into one of the loudest offensive displays of the day. A physical right-handed hitter, Hoth commands the box with an aggressive demeanor and elite rotational strength. He keeps the barrel on a flat, heavy path through the zone, repeatedly squaring up the baseball on a line to the pull-side gap with true home run pop. Kazon Hawes C / OF / Bear River, UT / 2027Rankings StateRank: 63 / POS: 8
Kazon put his continued growth and improvement on display behind the plate on Monday, reminding our staff why he is highly regarded as one of the top defensive backstops in the Junior class. The son of a coach, Hawes displays advanced fundamental polish, showing off excellent mobility, low-target framing capability, and an ultra-quick transfer. He works tirelessly for his pitching staff, blocking with consistent effort and maintaining a rapid recovery. Offensively, the right-handed stroke is compact and contact-oriented, using a flat plane to drive balls from gap to gap while executing excellent control over his lower half. A high level player that continues to get better every time we see him. Currently uncommited but warrants as a must follow in the '27 class. Paden Toula C / SS / Davis High School Kaysville Utah, UT / 2027Paden put together a very complete, well-rounded workout on Saturday, reinforcing his reputation as a high-floor backstop out of a perennially strong Davis program. Defensively, he shows quiet, relaxed hands behind the dish with an arm path that is short and over-the-top, keeping his throws down with clean backspin right on the bag with elite exchange times. At the plate, Toula commands a simple, repeatable foundation with minimal hand movement, focusing on consistent, hard contact through the middle of the field. He manages his leverage well and displays an approach geared for line-drive productivity. Paden was an unknown player to our staff prior to Monday, and his performanfe and projection moving forward warrant him as an absolute must follow over the next year in the '27 class. Jackson Barfuss SS / 2B / Bear River, UT / 2027Jackson is coming off a highly productive varsity campaign for Bear River, and that elite competitive edge was visible throughout the event with this being our first time seeing him play in person. On the dirt, Barfuss moves with strong instincts and a quick first step, showcasing quality lateral reactions and soft, confident hands that absorb the baseball smoothly. His arm action is loose and adaptive, allowing him to throw accurately from multiple slots on the move. Offensively, he displays repeatable barrel control with a short, direct path inside the ball, utilizing a line-drive approach that sprays hard contact across the field. A true baseball player with excellent winning habits that will continue to improve playing in a top notch program under Coach Hawes. Huston Paremski OF / 2B / Green Canyon, UT / 2027Huston put together a highly productive showing at the event, impressing our staff with our first time seeing him play out of the Green Canyon program. Sporting a strong, compact 5’8, 170 lb frame, Paremski features a balanced setup at the plate with quiet hands and a wide stance. He stays inside and on plane well with a flat path through contact and an extension-minded finish, displaying strong barrel awareness throughout the rounds. Defensively in the grass, he moves in the OF with fluid actions and pairs it with a clean, moderate arm stroke that reached 80 and stayed on line. An efficient, aggressive runner with an athletic foundation, Paremski projects as a reliable, high-motor player to track closely as he enters his upperclassman season. Andrew Johnson RHP / 1B / Skyline, UT / 2028Rankings StateRank: 47 / POS: 6
Andrew emerges as one of the highly intriguing two-way profiles in the rising sophomore class that projects to be a historically good one for the state. On the dirt, he worked out at SS but played most of his varsity breakout season at the corners. The athleticism is there to see him potentially playing the corner infield or outifield at a high level long-term. The real intrigue carries over to the mound, where the arm action is free and easy with clear upside on top of his broad, 6'4" 185 lb frame. Working downhill with deliberate tempo, Johnson ran his fastball up into the mid-80s with substantial arm-side run. His sharp, late-breaking curveball & slider show the early spin properties necessary to become a high-level swing-and-miss weapon down the road. High ceiling talent and must follow in the 28' class. Tyke Johnson OF / 1B / West Field, UT / 2028Tyke displays an impressive array of loud, explosive tools for a 2028 grad, bringing strong athleticism and raw versatility to the field. Featuring dual-position eligibility behind the plate and out in the grass, Johnson moves well around the diamond highlighted with top-tier metrics everywhere for his position and for the class. In the box, he unleashes a quick swing with excellent hand acceleration, turning on inside velocity with relative ease and generating backspin carry deep to the pullside. Behind the dish, his exchanges are quick, flashing highly advanced arm strength for his age profile. He is a dynamic underclassman who will be a high-priority track over the coming years.
