The 2026 spring season has come to an end across the First State. This week, our staff will highlight the Prep Baseball DE All-State teams, including the Player of the Year, Pitcher of the Year, Underclass Player of the Year, and the Newcomer of the Year. Next up, we highlight a player who excelled on both sides of the ball, certainly making a name for himself across Delaware.

UNDERCLASS PLAYER OF THE YEAR

2028 Shane Harding (Archmere Academy)

A player fairly unknown to our staff heading into the 2026 spring, Shane Harding made a huge impression throughout the spring, showcasing explosive attributes on both sides of the ball with game-changing ability. The numbers offensively were off the charts, hitting .585 with an OPS of 1.626, notching 38 total hits, 17 extra-base hits, 4 homeruns, 20 RBI, and 29 runs scored. On the other side of the ball, Harding showcased immense arm talent as well, working 23+ innings on the bump, striking out 35 with a 2.66 ERA, holding opposing batters to a .174 batting average. This is an under-the-radar two-way that shouldn't be unknown for very long.
