Arizona Class of 2028 Rankings: Post-Spring Update
June 4, 2026
ARIZONA - The Prep Baseball Arizona staff is excited to release the latest update to the Arizona 2028 Rankings following the conclusion of the 2026 high school season. After a spring filled with in-game evaluations, postseason coverage, showcase looks, and continued player development throughout the state, significant movement has taken place within Arizona's talented 2028 class.
With players now entering the summer following their sophomore season, the recruiting process is beginning to accelerate for many of the state's top prospects. Over the next several months, Arizona's 2028 class will take center stage at some of the top events in the country, providing college recruiters and professional scouts with additional opportunities to evaluate one of the deepest groups of talent Arizona has produced in recent years.
This update reflects a full spring season's worth of evaluations, combining game performance, athleticism, long-term projection, and objective data collected throughout the year. While some players strengthened their position near the top of the board, others used breakout sophomore campaigns to force their way into the rankings conversation and establish themselves as legitimate follow prospects moving forward. The result is a class that continues to show impressive depth across every position group, highlighted by high-end talent at the top and a growing collection of players who have positioned themselves for significant recruiting attention heading into the summer.
How We Evaluate & Update The Rankings
The Prep Baseball Arizona staff evaluates players year-round through a combination of in-game coverage, high school evaluations, showcase events, Scout Days, and objective data collected at Prep Baseball events. Strong game performance remains one of the most important factors in every rankings update. Production against quality competition, consistency throughout the season, athleticism, physical projection, and overall impact on winning all play a significant role in the evaluation process. Objective data collected through TrackMan, Blast Motion, VALD Performance testing, and defensive evaluations also provides important context when projecting long-term upside.
Rankings are not built solely from statistics, nor are they determined entirely by showcase metrics. The goal is to combine both game performance and verified data to create the most complete picture possible of a prospect's current ability and future projection.
As players continue to mature physically and gain experience against higher levels of competition, movement throughout the rankings is natural and expected. In many cases, movement reflects the emergence of new prospects and the continued development of players throughout the state rather than a decline in the overall evaluation of another player.
The Road to August 1 & ⭐ The 2026 Future Games ⭐
The coming months represent one of the most important evaluation periods of the year for Arizona's 2028 class. With the high school season now complete, the focus shifts to a summer filled with showcase events, national tournaments, and opportunities for players to continue elevating their recruiting profiles against some of the top competition in the country.
A major part of that process will be the selection of Team Arizona for the 2026 Future Games, the nation's premier uncommitted recruiting event. Held annually at LakePoint Sports in Georgia, the Future Games brings together many of the top prospects from across the country and attracts hundreds of college recruiters representing every level of college baseball.
Throughout the summer, the Prep Baseball Arizona staff will continue evaluating players at events such as Summer ID's, Area Code events, national travel tournaments, and other showcase opportunities across the region. Every in-game look, showcase performance, and verified data point will help shape future rankings updates while also playing a role in identifying the players who will represent Arizona on one of the biggest stages in amateur baseball.
Arizona's 2028 class continues to show impressive depth and talent throughout the state, and with a pivotal summer now underway, the race for Future Games roster spots and continued movement within the rankings remains highly competitive.
