Canyon Del Oro leaned on dominant pitching to edge Canyon View 1-0 in a tightly contested playoff matchup at Diablo Stadium. Mazura struck out 10 over nearly seven shutout innings before Carson recorded the final out for the save. Carson also delivered the game’s lone run with an RBI double in the first inning.

Horizon exploded offensively with 16 hits and seven stolen bases in an 18-8 win over Catalina Foothills. Weber led the charge with four RBI and three hits, while Walker and Beyer each added multi hit performances. The Huskies broke the game open with a seven run sixth inning to pull away late.

Brophy Prep walked off Desert Vista in dramatic fashion with a 4-3 victory on Thursday. Castle tied the game with an RBI single before Palumbo lifted the game winning sacrifice fly later in the inning. McGuire was outstanding in relief, tossing 4.2 scoreless innings while striking out four.
