North Lincoln vs. Seaforth

GAME 1 FINAL: North Lincoln 11, Seaforth 1

North Lincoln Varsity Knights won big over Seaforth Varsity Hawks 11-1 on Wednesday at Burlington. A double by Cole Nemire put North Lincoln Varsity Knights on the board in the bottom of the second. North Lincoln Varsity Knights scored five runs on four hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Beckett Rinkus doubled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Greyson Evans doubled, scoring two runs, and Elliott Dellinger laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring one run. North Lincoln Varsity Knights scored five runs on four hits in the bottom of the sixth inning. Dellinger doubled, scoring two runs, Tucker Sigmon singled, scoring two runs, and Sigmon scored after tagging up. Bryson Schmidt stepped on the mound first for North Lincoln Varsity Knights. The pitcher gave up four hits and one run over six innings, striking out one and walking one. Bryce Huneycutt led things off on the bump for Seaforth Varsity Hawks. The hurler gave up 13 hits and 10 runs (four earned) over five innings, striking out two and walking one.

Both teams were strong on the mound on Wednesday, but Bunn Varsity Wildcats was just a little bit stronger at the plate in their 3-2 victory over Burns Varsity Bulldogs. Brian Buttrick started the game for Burns Varsity Bulldogs and recorded 15 outs. Burns Varsity Bulldogs was right in it until Bunn Varsity Wildcats popped out in the fourth inning. Burns Varsity Bulldogs got on the board in the first inning after Lathan Peeler singled, scoring two runs. Caleb Johnson singled to right field, which helped Bunn Varsity Wildcats tie the game at two in the bottom of the first. Buttrick opened the game for Burns Varsity Bulldogs. The starter surrendered seven hits and three runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out two and walking two. Connor Hathaway began the game for Bunn Varsity Wildcats. The pitcher allowed two hits and two runs over three innings, striking out four and walking four.

Whiteville Varsity Wolf outsted East Rutherford Varsity Cavaliers 4-1 on Wednesday at North Main Athletic Complex. Whiteville Varsity Wolf opened the scoring in the first after Wyett Torrelli singled, scoring one run. Preston Henson hit a sacrifice fly, which helped East Rutherford Varsity Cavaliers tie the game at one in the bottom of the third. In the top of the fifth inning, Whiteville Varsity Wolf went back into the lead after Jake Odham singled down the left field line, and Torrelli grounded out, each scoring one run. Luke Mclean earned the win for Whiteville Varsity Wolf. The starting pitcher gave up four hits and one run over seven innings, striking out nine and walking two. Malachi Dato took the loss for East Rutherford Varsity Cavaliers. The hurler went five innings, giving up three runs on five hits, striking striking out six and walking none.

Brock Bumgardner didn't allow a single hit as Cherryville Varsity Ironmen defeated Rosewood Varsity Eagles 4-0 on Wednesday at Burlington Athletic Stadium. To get the final out, Bumgardner induced a fly out from Cam Rye. Cherryville Varsity Ironmen were the first to get on the board in the first when Bumgardner doubled, scoring two runs. Robbie Boren took the loss for Rosewood Varsity Eagles. The starting pitcher went six innings, giving up four runs on five hits, striking out seven and walking five.
