Rising Stars on the Radar: 2029 RHP/OF Owen Hart (Pt. Pleasant Boro)

Nathan Goranson
Northeast Scout

Hart was a standout player from the preseason and landed at 5th overall on our most recent New Jersey 2029 rankings update. The 5-foot-10, 175-pound 2-way prospect showcased his advanced arm talent and developing power at the plate this winter.

On the mound, Hart is an athletic mover with explosive late arm action that generates hand speed at release. He has flashed an advanced, high-level arm talent with a fastball topping at 89mph and consistently sits in the upper 80s. His curveball is 74-76 mph with the ability to manipulate it into occasional curveball shape and occasional slider shape. His go-to off-speed pitch is the changeup where he shows confidence when throwing it against right-handed-hitters and left-handed-hitters.

Offensively, he displayed some intriguing power producing a 98.6 mph max exit velocity, 91.4 mph average exit velocity, and 329 ft max distance. Hart produced these loud metrics from a set up with minimal movement and load while staying quiet and balanced while swinging. Linear, direct path to and through the baseball.

Overall, Hart is an athletic 2-way prospect (7.15 sixty-yard dash) where he can impact the game from both sides of the baseball in a productive and winning manner. He will be a must see prospect in the Northeast.
