Wiregrass Summer/Rising Stars ID: TrackMan Files

Prep Baseball Alabama Staff

ENTERPRISE, AL - The 2026 Summer ID Tour made its final stop on Tuesday, July 14th as Prep Baseball Alabama traveled to Enterprise High School in Enterprise, AL for the Wiregrass Summer ID and Wiregrass Rising Stars ID. The event featured prospects from the 2027-2032 graduating classes who participated in a full day of evaluations and data collection in front of the Prep Baseball Alabama staff.

Attendees participated in a pro-style workout that included laser-timed 60-yard dashes using VALD Performance gates, batting practice with TrackMan technology, and defensive evaluations with arm strength metrics recorded at each position. The event served as an early summer opportunity for players to update their profiles, collect verified data, and showcase their tools heading into a busy summer schedule. In addition to collecting valuable data, players were also evaluated for some of Prep Baseball's premier national events, including the Senior Future Games (2027s), Future Games (2028s), Southeast Super Sophomore Games (2029s), and Junior Future Games (2030-2031s).

Following the event, our staff takes a deeper dive into the data collected by our TrackMan units throughout the day. Below, we take a look at the top statistical performers from the event in each measured category.

Wiregrass Summer ID

MAX FASTBALL & AVERAGE SPIN RATE

Rank Name State School Class Pos Velocity (max)
1 Aiden Trammell AL Lincoln 2028 RHP 88.7 mph
2 Harrison Milanowski AL Houston Academy 2028 SS 88.7 mph
3 Ty Nance AL Rehobeth High School 2028 RHP 85.2 mph
4 Ty Morris AL Houston Academy 2027 RHP 85.1 mph
5 Addison Senn AL Ariton School 2027 LHP 85.0 mph

Rank Name State School Class Pos Spin Rate (avg)
1 Ty Nance AL Rehobeth High School 2028 RHP 2422 rpm
2 Addison Senn AL Ariton School 2027 LHP 2316 rpm
3 Aiden Trammell AL Lincoln 2028 RHP 2261 rpm
4 Cole Parrish AL Holtville High School 2028 SS 2208 rpm
5 Tripp Benton AL Dothan High School 2027 1B 2183 rpm

Max Fastball Velocity: This metric calculates the speed of the pitch as it’s released from the pitcher’s hand.

Spin Rate: This metric calculates the rate of spin on the baseball as it leaves the pitcher’s hand, measured in revolutions per minute (rpm). Historical data shows that high-spin fastballs lessen the impact of gravity, allowing for more ‘rise’ (or less fall, in other words) as it carries through the zone. Low-spin fastballs typically indicate the pitch has greater horizontal action, often making it tougher to square up, but generally easier to make contact with, leading to more ground balls, while high-spin fastballs show a correlation with swings and misses.

AVERAGE INDUCED VERTICAL BREAK

Rank Name State School Class Pos IVB (avg)
1 Hayes Weber AL Enterprise 2029 OF 21.6 in
2 Rhett English AL Glenwood 2028 OF 21.0 in
3 Canaan McDonald AL Smiths Station 2027 SS 20.5 in
4 Porter Nelson AL Opp Highschool 2027 3B 18.7 in
5 Hunter Hart AL Dale County High School 2028 LHP 18.5 in

Induced Vertical Break: As far as deception and importance goes, fast induced vertical break (IVB) may be the most important. Induced vertical break is not what is sounds. IVB simply means the pitch is "breaking" upward from the average level a pitch falls from release to home plate. This is a stat that you want to stay away from being average at. Fortunately, this can be tweaked slightly depending on release height. To put it simply, the higher number = more "rise" the pitch has compared to average.

AVERAGE FASTBALL HORIZONTAL MOVEMENT

Rank Name State School Class Pos HM (avg)
1 John Curry Lyons AL New Brockton High School 2029 LHP -20.7
2 Aiden Trammell AL Lincoln 2028 RHP 18.4
3 Lucas Shepherd AL Abbeville Christian Academhy 2028 C 16.9
4 Gavin Galimore AL Enterprise 2029 1B 16.1
5 Hayes Weber AL Enterprise 2029 OF 15.1

Horizontal Break: Outlined on TrackMan’s own website: “... horizontal movement is measured in inches between where the pitch actually crosses the front of home plate side-wise, and where it would have crossed home plate side-wise if had it traveled in a perfectly straight line from release. A positive number means the break was to the right from the pitcher’s perspective, while a negative number means the break was to the left from the pitcher’s perspective.”

AVERAGE CURVEBALL SPIN RATE

Rank Name State School Class Pos Spin Rate (avg)
1 Canaan McDonald AL Smiths Station 2027 SS 2383 rpm
2 Aiden Trammell AL Lincoln 2028 RHP 2357 rpm

4 Cole Parrish AL Holtville High School 2028 SS 2143 rpm
5 Rhett English AL Glenwood 2028 OF 2103 rpm

Spin Rate: The metric calculates how fast the ball is spinning as it leaves the pitcher’s hand, reported in the number of times the pitched ball would spin per minute (“revolutions per minute” or “rpm”).

AVERAGE SLIDER SPIN RATE

Rank Name State School Class Pos Spin Rate (avg)
1 Addison Senn AL Ariton School 2027 LHP 2777

4 Cole Parrish AL Holtville High School 2028 SS 2373
5 Aiden Trammell AL Lincoln 2028 RHP 2242

Spin Rate: The metric calculates how fast the ball is spinning as it leaves the pitcher’s hand, reported in the number of times the pitched ball would spin per minute (“revolutions per minute” or “rpm”).

4 Harrison Milanowski AL Houston Academy 2028 SS 19.2
5 Gavin Galimore AL Enterprise 2029 1B 17.4

Horizontal Break: This metric measures the distance, measured in inches, between where the pitch actually crosses the front of home plate side-wise, and where it would have crossed home plate side-wise if had it traveled in a perfectly straight line from release. A positive number means the break was to the right from the pitcher’s perspective, while a negative number means the break was to the left from the pitcher’s perspective.
